Re: European Club Championship 2011
Looks like Wilmslow wins - they could walk from the runway.
I was once part of the winning Pop Lacrosse team that defeated Wigan in the 1992 Greater Manchester Youth Games.

Re: European Club Championship 2011
Congratulations to Farsta LC
THE NEW 2011 EUROPEAN CLUB CHAMPIONS
You have to be in it to win it!
As for Pom's argument that Stockport are 20+ goals better than Blues and that Wilkinson Sword & Iroquois Match-ups don't count is ridiculous
The stance that North teams are hungover or not full strength when they play South teams is very convenient.
Why let the facts interfere with an opinion?
Congratulations to all the National Champions who represented their Leagues in the 2011 ECC

It is not the nearness of the airport that matters but the flights going into it and the prices charged by the carrier, thanks for the PM pointing out that I did not account for Luton airport previously!

Re: European Club Championship 2011
Hi,
The ELF has discussed the issue at a recent board meeting and is looking to improve the situation. We acknowledge that the event was suboptimal and the process of preparation and delivery needs to change.
The aim is to provide a date of the tournament that can be a fixum for every year (comparable to BNCs), redirect cost levels and timing of information to a significantly more acceptable level.
Should you have any input on this, please pm me (or simply e-mail coaching at europeanlacrosse.org), I will happily liaise with the board and provide answers.
Lastly, any input on the following specific queries would be appreciated:
- which playing mode would be optimal? Please specify in your answer how many teams need how many fields and officials as part of your suggestion
- if there are past examples of successfully run events that included a comparable amount of teams in a comparable time frame, can you please provide information on this
- with regards to refereeing and the associated costs, which ways exist to manage this costs whilst ensuring a safe and sufficiently well reffed number of games
Kind regards
Henning

Dear all,
The event will be tendered through official channels within due course.
Any feedback on mode, timing, etc. would be most appreciated and should be sent directly to Gordon Shumack, who is available under secretary at europeanlacrosse.org.
In case of any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Gordon or myself through e-mail or pm.
Kind regards
Henning

I have been called a little grumpy in the past but...
was a tournament without the best UK side and no Czech team worth it?
The champions can call themselves European champs, but they know they'll lose to Stockport, and probably a Czech team!
Farsta-Stockport score 6-5, 2013-09-08 and by the way they have newer lost to a Czech team
I rest my case

I cannot believe this but I am supporting Stockport here
I doubt it was a proper Stockport team they had a team in bath and it was an England training week end
so all the best players would have been in England not in gent
so this Stockport team was probably a best of the rest/boozing team I doubt it contained that many first team players

League restructure I told you so 10/3/2011(looking good on this one)
Prem division to two leagues will result in the prem division failing and being combined with Nemla 22/3/2012
the proposed restructure to 8 teams in each prem league will only last a couple of years until it has to be restructured again due to teams dropping out. 13/12/2012

Pretty certain that I saw Sam Patterson tweeting pics of himself, big mac, and gosnay all on route to Ghent.

Agree with mr Stanford.
Losing to a bunch of shandy drinking quiche eaters is the stuff of nightmares.
Be interesting to see write ups on semis and final though plus squad info.

I was in Bath on Saturday and there was no Stockport team there.

Re: European Club Championship 2011
Yeah, Stockport weren't at Bath.
Few key players missing but still a few recognisable names in the squad.
Looks like 4 players accounted for 66% of Stockport fouls.

So not too many "missing"
Doubt any team took their "full" squad

So apart from the fact that Stockport *weren't* at Bath and their England players *were* in Ghent, you've pretty much nailed it there Beadle. Spot on.

But you did lose to a rampant Team Nando in Berlin 2011 after a seven-goal second-half comeback. I think you might have complained about losing that game because we made friends with some young, quick Americans

I think that we came blame this on the league restructue. Stockport would never have lost under the old structure

Well......because you could not live with the shame of loosing to a swedish team
i guess your only chance to win the game was to bring the americans in
I wonder what is the worst loosing to a southern league team or to another european team...
Re: European Club Championship 2011
That's a tough one.
Do the welsh count as European or not?
