Good to see stars of the '94 World Series in Uni action. Syracuse goalkeeper had the Indian sign over Princeton from the beginning.
Shame about the lack of sound because you can't quite pick up the total humiliation of Syracuse #4 having his goal disallowed and illegal stick confiscated. Farmer Dan, do you think he came back with a spare stick, or did he pretend to repair the naughty one?

I'd have loved to hear what he was saying then. Just throwing all his toys out the pram.
Can't be certain but I think he'd have to come back with a different stick as the ref confiscated it and left it with the timers., but not 100% on the NCAA rules at that time.

#4 Matt Riter was called for a 3 minute penalty and the Goal was taken off the scoreboard.

He was called for the handle of the stick being bent giving an unfair advantage, he claimed the the handle had been bent in the course of play.

Things worked out though as #4 went on to score the winning goal in the Final against UNC 13-12

My memory of that NCAA series is that Charlie Lockwood was the Syracuse superstar, but the film shows an even spread of talent through the squad (#5 at face,#4 as hitman goalscorer,goalkeeper as wall). The defence was on a constant rampage with #47 prepared to take penalties any time. A big difference from 2009 seems to be discipline; the coach allowed a lot of trash talk at opponents & officials which would not be tolerated now.

Did two of the Syracuse D get into the USA squad for '94 to get sliced by Gaits at Bury FC? It was something else.

1994 Canada lost to Australia in the semi-final

Thanks, it wasn't a task but you are a library. That '94 team must have been Petremala's defence.

And the Aussies had an Olympic 400m runner in their midfield, that's all I remember.
