I was having a break when he was coming through so never played against him. Did he just play for Oldham over here?

Fair play to those stats though. What's he doing after Uni?

I'd love to see more of our players get themselves over there. The lads I've known who've done it have had a great time.

Actually, curious as to who else has tried it out stateside.

Paul Flowers
Ashley Tarran Jones
Tom Brooks
Mark Hodkin
Paul Fullerton
Jamie Symington if memory serves?
John Paul Purssord - few of you may not know him - hitchin lad who went to Greensboro (sp?) played for wales - class act
We had a scandi called Penti who went to NYIT with Flaz after playing over here & for Gin and Juice
Matt Edmunds - still coaching over there

Anyone got years they went?

Or geological periods where appropriate. I believe Hodkin was mid Triassic.

Looks like a fun attack group. Coach Gordon Purdie was phenomenal at the '94 WCs. http://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/b ... rdie/12164

Gordon Purdie along with Cameron Toomey were awesome in '94. That Aussie Team was great to watch.
Cam was top scorer for the Championships and would have gone on to be one of the best players ever.
Real shame what happened to him.

Never knew what happened to Cam until now
http://www.quadriplegic.com.au/quadripl ... rded-225m/

I was at a party in St Kilda in 1990 where Cam "Hammer" Toomey was hanging off a 3rd floor fire escape balcony letting go then grabbing the railings at the last second, all while very drunk.

it is a cruel twist of fate that he should suffer a tragic accident... or lucky to be alive depending on how you look at it

He was a great lacrosse player with an excellent shot, he could have been an Aussie legend

That 1994 Aussie team was great getting to the final beating a Canada team led by the Gaits, They were a solid unit with a strong cutting game #4 feeder in attack was the key player for me only small but tough as old boots and brilliant feeder under pressure from defenders knocking lumps out of him, can't remember the name though.

1994 was the last time the World Final wasn't between USA & Canada and probably will remain so for some time as both squads are fully professional. The iroquois Nationals might break into one day but I don't see it happening for a long time
