England Select 11-13 LDO's

Overall a bit of a scappy game as is often the way with scratch teams. LDOs were fast out of the blocks, peppering the Select goal with big outside shots in the 1st half. With Tom Gallon out injured, Select struggled early on at the face but Tom Bracegirdle started to take control in the second and third quarters as the Select team closed the gap. A brace of Ollie White goals late in the fourth Q brought them within one but the LDOs held on for the win.

QT: 2-4, HT: 3-8, TT: 7-9

England Select stats:

Scorers:
Ollie White 3+1
Josh Roden 1+3
Ryan Hunns 2+1
Jack Brook 2+0
Dom Fitzgerald 1+1
Glen Humphreys 1+0
James Bates 1+0
Tom Bracegirdle 0+1
Tommy Kirkland 0+1
Bill Fisher 0+1

Saves: Ben McAllister 7/15 (47%), Tim Blower 6/11 (55%).
Faceoffs: Tom Bracegirdle 16/26 (62%)

I missed it yesterday, looks a much better result for England.

Good game? What were the differences between this and the last match?

The game was a bit flat to start with as the LDOs were missing their Durham contingent and only had 12 players. They still managed to take a 3-2 lead in the 1st Q but Mark Reynolds was making a big difference in attack as the Select team settled in the 2nd Q (8-4 up at the half). In the second half the LDOs started to run out of steam a little as their lack of depth showed and they just went to goal at every opportunity, but Wil Stelfox was playing well in net and Ryan Hunns and Ollie White became increasingly influential in the last period as the Select team cruised to a pretty comfortable win

...they only had 12 players?

Great to see that they've taken to the NEMLA/SEMLA squad sizes already.
