Brighton Panthers #66
Re: East Mixed Lacrosse League
Brighton Panthers 15-14 Cambridge
Very exciting game to watch with the equaliser and the winner coming in the last minute of the game. A fairly fresher side from panthers, who dug deep and caused a well deserved upset, could be a very successful year for Brighton Lacrosse Club!

Re: East Mixed Lacrosse League
Cambridge 23-0 Reading
Have to apologise for the poor turnout for Reading who were missing 10 first team players due to various commitments all on the same weekend, myself included.
Didn't play myself so can't comment too much but I heard superior fitness towards the end from Cambridge led to a lot of late goals.
Looking forward to a return fixture for a proper game!

Brighton 11 v 8 Oxford is correct, and it was a very entertaining game.
A superb second quarter saw Brighton go into halftime with a commanding 7 - 2 lead, the pick of the goals being a fine solo effort from Scott Flanagan making an interception near halfway and using sheer pace to break through the Oxford D. The second half was a different story however, Oxford coming back strongly to make for a nailbiting final quarter. Luckily for Brighton, stand-in keeper Joe Piper was up to the challenge and, ably protected by Emily Cole and Megan Funnell, managed to turn away several promising Oxford moves. Aimee Powell and Sophie Banks ran their socks off up front and their hard work created chances for Joe Slade and Valerie Hedges, the latter of which sealed the win with an impressive, composed finsh from a difficult angle.
Oxford will go home rueing this result as one they could have won, but can be proud of their performance nonetheless. A very strong team in their own right, and the return fixture will surely be just as close-fought.
