Re: Results - 12/04/14

Thanks Trig, that was a much more accurate report than our cup semi final reports on the ELA website, although I reckon Woody was only about 25 yards from goal. Play ins - not a bad idea, but too late in the season and surely they should be between bottom of one division/top of the division below? N...

Re: Is the forum dead in the North?

Perhaps everyone who was interested was at the games? It does feel like the season that died due to lack of momentum, hopefully next season will be better. I was at Wacs for both days, I would just like to say a big thank you to Alan Boyle et al for all your hard work in making it such an enjoyable ...

Re: Ashes 2013-14

I will miss watching him bat in the Tests. When on form he looked impossible to bowl at. Kicking him out prior to appointing the new coach seems a bit strange. However it will be interesting to see if Root, Ballance, Stokes etc can step up and become quality Test players. They look like they have go...

Re: Ashes 2013-14

A difficult one. His stats show he has done relatively well but we all know he has only done OK at best. I see him as the icing on the cake of the batting line up. The only trouble is that there wasn't any cake this tour! To be fair to him he did try to farm the strike against Johnson one innings an...

Re: Ashes 2013-14

Have you ever seen a team destroyed so comprehensively? First test of last Summer; we won by a few runs, mainly because we were used to winning and they were used to losing. Fast forward to the 2nd ODI and it had completely reversed. Didn't really look in doubt that their last pair would get the run...

Re: Ashes 2013-14

I had a bad feeing that this might happen. I thought the 3-0 summer result flattered us. They have bounced back from bad first tests before, but this will take a big momentum shift.

Wish your goalie well from us, it didn't look great with that lump. Apologies that we had to rush off straight away after the game - two club birthday parties!

Re: ENGLAND v IRELAND

Legendary Stockport County manager Danny Bergara talking to another manager about sending Jim Gannon out on loan. Other manager "Is it true that he is quite volatile?" Danny Bergara "Yes, he can play quite a few different positions." Nick Watson is now officially a volatile player.

Re: Results 17 March

I genuinely feel for whooped and the Notts lads - sometimes difficult to pull players together for a Saturday with a mix of injury and apathy. We've struggled at Stops on a few occasions this year. The bottom 4 spots have been incredibly close in Prem2 this year with everyone taking points off each...

Re: results 26/11/11

It is a problem. It requires a small number of dedicated people (as with other clubs) to organise stuff, and it helps if they can drive too!! I really hope we can get some stability and make away trips more consistently as that was the aim this year. however things dont always pan out quite right. ...
