Re: Can I use this stick legally?
All joking apart Are you going down to Bath, if so get one of the refs to stick check it for you privately There certainly isnt a problem with the mesh that i can see from the Photo. A side shot to check how the ball sits in the pocket would be helpful. ball being trapped could be an issue! thats wh...

Re: Can I use this stick legally?
Carry out a stick check!!!!
if it fails then the answer is no! it isnt legal.
The procedure can be found in the FIL referees manual.

BRITISH NATIONALS
I would like to ask if anyone picked up a blue holdall by mistake on the Sunday evening at the British Nationals.
It contains referee kit including uniform and shoes.
If you have any info, if you could let me know it would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks

Re: Crease Violation & Goalie Interference
The question covers two different situations, if the foul draws a flag then the match will restart where the play breaks down and whistle is blown to stop play, subject to the distance from goal. So let's say a slash in drawn behind the goal. Attacker makes his way up above the GLE, the defender go...

Re: Hidden Ball trick
Chilli i agree with you.
i was just pointing out that the rules would be broken as the checked player would not be in possession or within 3 yds of a loose ball

Re: Hidden Ball trick
my only concession is,
i would probably call a technical foul of interference and not a personal foul, as 1/2/3 minute would be a harsh call for a regular check. which,if he had the ball in his possession, would not even be a penalty.

Re: Hidden Ball trick
So based on what Chilli says, the defender would be guilty of a foul upon the decoy player as the ball would be in the possession of another. You can check or body a player who is in possession, or within 3 yards of a loose ball or ball in flight. 41.1 Body checking and taking-out an opponent are per...

Re: Hidden Ball trick
Sorry, as a ref i wont be deciding if he new he had the ball. I will automatically assume that he didn't.
Only exception is if i was to restart play and indicate the wrong player with the ball.

Re: Goalies - do you have to field a goalie?
The rules as quoted by Trig are currently within the 2010 English rules. There is nothing within those rules about a limiting time for a repair to the goal keepers stick. But i will ask the opinion of the refs at the next association meeting. Nor is there a requirement for a goalkeepers stick, to be ...

Re: Game Re-Start after Quarter Time with Man Up/Down
At the of the end of the quarter RED Goalie is in possession. The Team in possession retains possession on a man up situation Next Quarter starts with RED possession. As it was the goalkeeper in possesion the ball will restart 20yds RED goal line extended. This would be regardless of which team was ...

Re: Crease Violation & Goalie Interference
5) Ball is in red crease, but not in the red keepers possession . Blue, whilst trying to 'fish' the ball out from outside the crease, makes contact with the keeper or his stick. Interference: ball goes blue, no send off? Contact with goalkeeper is ok when the ball is not in posession of the keeper....

Re: Basic award ref seeks enlightenment
If you stop the count on the goal keeper because he has lifted his stick as some suggest, would you restart the count giving another 4 seconds? Or would you continue the count from where you finished once the keeper regains possesion. Undoubtably this will have increased the time that the goalkeepe...
