Re: Referee Evaluation
I agree wholeheartedly with the comments already posted. We often decry 'our friends in the north' for being unwilling to change so we have no reason not to give this trial our full support. The necessary safeguards are in place. Let's get fully behind this and, before and after every game, positive...

Re: BUCS results 14th November
Exeter 6 - 6 Bristol It was 5 apiece at 3/4 time and stayed that way until Exeter took the lead with 32 secs left. Bristol won the face and equalised with 15 seconds on the clock. I'm sure both sides were gutted not to get the win but it was agreat game of lacrosse and a pleasure to referee. Well do...

Re: BUCS results 17/10/12
Exeter 1s game was postponed, not sure why The game was abandoned after 30 minutes because the pitch cut up so badly and could not take two games (Exeter 2's played their game first). One goal area in particular was a sea of mud with crease lines obliterated. It would have been dangerous to continue.

Bristol Bombers 2 7 Plymouth 5
Game spoilt by a downpour at the start which turned the pitch into a paddy field. Not a bad standard for the first game of the season and considering the conditions.

Result 10th October
Exeter 7 - Oxford 10
I said I would post the quarter scores on Laxforums which were:
0 - 6
3 - 7
6 - 8
7 - 10
Well played both teams in atrocious conditions. It was a pleasure to referee the game.

Re: BUCS results 21/3/12
I hear the western conference cup was a thriller. UWIC were 9-5 up and apparently bristol 2s pulled it back to 9-9 with a goal in the last 6 seconds. After the two overtime periods the scores were still level at 11-11, UWIC finally taking the victory with a sudden death overtime goal - final score:...

SEMLA have been banking with NatWest for years and have never paid any bank charges. I suggest you have a word with your bank and see if you can get some of the charges refunded.

Bristol 2nds 2 Gloucester 4 Q1 0-1 Q2 0-3 Q3 1-4 Q4 2-4 Enjoyable game to ref - hardly any personal fouls. Lots of freshers playing whose passing and catching let them down, especially on an artificial surface. I'm sure they will all improve as the season develops. Sorry to have to say this guys but...

Re: "What's the score please Ref?"
For what it's worth, in the last quarter of a close game (less than 3 goals in it) I always call out the score after each goal once I have updated my score card and before the restart face off. It can save a lot of hassle at the end of the game.

Bristol Bombers 12-6 Portsmouth Uni By quarters... 4-3 7-4 9-4 12-6 thanks to pompey for travelling. Its a shame both teams can't fight for promotion this year. Bombers 2s 13-0 southampton tridents mixed up the teams at half time and played a scrimmage. Much more fun and beneficial for both teams. ...

Bristol Uni 12 - 12 Warwick Uni My thanks are extended to the Bris D for covering me in more bruises than ever before! Fun game, so frustrating to finish on a draw! It was a hard game with both sides going all out for the win, but a pleasure to referee. The standard of lacrosse was excellent. Good ...

Referee available for Bristol/Bath/Exeter
I'm available to referee most Wednesdays (as I have done for the last couple of seasons) in the Bristol/Bath area and don't mind the odd trip down to Exeter (I can't cover Exter this Wednesday). Get in touch if you want me to cover your game.

Games I can referee
I've had a look at the Western League fixtures and can cover the following games unless someone else is available. I've tried to 'spread myself around' to cover most grounds (sorry Swansea, it's a bit too far to travel!!). Hopefully James can cover some Southampton games. 15th October - Bath v Brist...

Having now retired I will be available on most Wednesday's to cover a game in the south west (I've already spoken to Bath Uni about it). The question is, who is going to organise this? Do we just pick a game and contact the home team? It would probably be better to visit a few different uni's to spr...
