Re: Complain to the BBC
Out of interest does anyone know how much contact the ELA PR team has made, or attempted to make, with the BBC sport team?

Re: Stickless Player
Correct Scott. And good use of play on if a defender had managed to gain possession as it was a loose ball technical foul.

Re: Crease diving, legal?
Yes. Provided the player does not make contact with the Cage, Keeper (or his stick) or the ground before the ball fully crosses the plane of the goal. The stick can touch the ground and cage but not the keeper (or his stick). For the purposes of the crease rules the gloved hand is NOT part of the st...

Re: Bath 8s 2011
Gutted that I'll be missing it this year. Stupidly booked my wedding on the 3rd and then realised why the date sounded familiar. Tried to persuade her that the centre spot of pitch one just before the final would be a great place for the wedding but she was having none of it!

Re: mens womens bank acc's
A word of advice to everyone..... don't EVER share your bank account with a woman!! wiser words were never spoken. having been treasurer when soton uni mens and womens still shared a budget and bank account, its not worth the aggro of having to find out where the hell all the money you had earmarke...

Yeah, sorry not to have it clearer. Just think it's a shame that this sort of thing (along with all publicity) is left to players and fans to do. [/Generic rant about the ELA publicity team apparently failing to do their job.]

My understanding is that there is nothing against having more than one team from a club in the same league except the Prem.

Re: Just sharing a great hit.
This week in NCAA saw some officials going too far the other way calling penalties on hits that weren't head shots or UR Duke vs Syracuse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HKykqltN-U Maryland vs Virginia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9oFisYA4hs In that second one the hit was illegal because the goa...

Is dan wright associated with blues nowadays then? I thought Spencer was his club? Has he moved? yes, he's gone to Blues in a major off-season transfer under the Bosman ruling. He now also occasionally plays for their 3rd team as well as reffing (not at the same time, of course) I think "play&...

Re: Offside & Early Release
Two quick ones about calls I made and got quite a bit of stick over, although I stuck by my decision on them just want to check if they were the correct calls. 1) Red have 3 players in defence, 6 in attack and one off the pitch (not for a penalty, just because he's a bit dosey and wasn't sure if he...

Re: Referees
When was the last time a non-panel referee got a call to see if they'd fancy a refresher/learn some new skills/ get to the know the experienced guys? The issues as i see it are that we put people through basic training to be thrown in to the deep-end as 'home-refs'. They might not have the skills i...

Re: Benefit of the doubt
If you've no idea where the ball was when he hit the ground then you do not KNOW that there has been a foul. You can only call what you see. But by extending that argument you didn't see the ball cross the line in a legal manner either so....... This is why we need more than one ref on the field so ...

Re: Stick Checks
funnily enough I was wondering this myself the other day. Nothing per se that prohibits the string hanging off the glove. But the rules do allow the refs to stop a player wearing anything considered dangerous to himself or other players. I guess that now the hanging strings on the stick rule has bee...

Re: Stick Checks
I refereed a game today and we had 3 stick checks. All 3 had goals disallowed for strings that hanged longer then 2". This rule was passed in Manchester this past summer and came into effect in England January 1st. Remember this is a technical foul and not a 3 minute personal. Unless it is cou...
