They only had seven, which was the same as us at holloway after one of our attack men got injured.

Still i suppose this is different.

It is a big anti climax to an exciting East 2 season. At least you aren't all sitting there waiting the EC V Reading A score to come in.

Following from jlo's thread from memory (as EG can't win as east coast 'won' today, and EC's head to head is better):

if brighton won or draw today they win the league. If they lose today then East coast win the league on head to head. But might be wrong but pretty sure that was the jist of it after an EC win.

Spencer 2 lost to Brighton something like 13-7. They had too much speed and scored on fast breaks. So well done to them as division champions. We left them in the bar getting fairly drunk as the Spencer club are hitting Balham on a major night out.

Well done to all teams competing in E2 this season. The competition was really electric.

A quick green ink geek-out: because goal average (=for/against) is the tiebreaker for league position, but head-to-head score supersedes it as the tiebreaker for deciding which team is promoted, it is theoretically possible to end the season placed first in the league but still avoid promotion. That's if your goal average is high, but your head-to-head scores against the second placed team are unfavourable.

yep your right, thats the point in it, so that cricket scores don't matter and if teams concede games it lessens the impact! for example if you had needed 20 goals today and reading 2 couldn't make it you would have been screwed!

Its exactly what would have happed it Bath city had lost to cardiff uni in their last game of the season. as cardiff had much better goal difference and average, but were one goal behind on the head to head!

The table gets adjusted at the end of the season i believe to reflect the position. Well at least it did under the old east playoff system. see east table:

yep, can confirm EG won today. 10-8 (against Northampton). Close and very hard fought, EG fielded very strong team and seemed to want it just that little bit more..
Either way, cheers to EG - fantastic end to the season and massive well done to Brighton who's success seems to be the result of alot of practise and teamwork.
