Adds credence to the argument that you should stuff a team by as many as you can when they are put in front of you!!
Shame for the Aber guys, they didn't have enough for a team. And we even tried lending them some of our team (I know, they didn't want to lower their standard!!).
It has been a close season this year, and has certainly made for some good matches. We've still got a couple of cup finals to play, which should be good.
Ah well.

Why?
because in a league which can be won on goal diference, that 10-0 for a walkover just doens't cut it against as 20+goal win (i rekon they should do it on results against each other to decide places, but you cant change the rules halfway through a season)
Ex Birmingham Bulls #88

not saying it is correct or not to stuff a team however....if the mids league for example did come down to goal diff which i think it could still do so....
warwick against aber: 1 game conceeded, other game + 39 goals = 49 goals
bham against aber: 2 games conceeded = 20 goals
and almost the same situation with games vs keele and glos uni....when these teams have played a game against warwick and warwick getting good scores and these teams conceededing twice against bham!

J-Lo wrote:goal average has no effect on a championship as far as i'm aware.
in anycase goal average is not counted where teams didn't fulfil fixtures, i.e matches against Aber would not count in the comparison.
The above is to the best of knowledge for the East 2 league.
if teams are tied on points then.....?
if matches dont count when conceeded then why do they get put as 10-0?

Try reading the rules of the league then!
sub clause h of the league championship bit should educate you enough as to why its pointless racking up a cricket score against weaker opposition, and as to why you are so hopelessly wrong here

Midlands championship
Putting it as simply as I can:
Birmingham have played all their matches and have 36 points.
Warwick can't win because they are on 32 points with one match to play (hence maximum 35 points). But the game they have is with Loughborough.
Loughborough have 31 points with 2 games to play (Warwick and Aber). If Loughborough win both remaining games they win the title by 1 point.
Nottingham have 33 points with 1 game to play (Keele) so can reach a maximum of 36 points.
If Loughborough lose to Warwick then Birmingham and Nottingham will be tied on 36 points and the championship will be decided on the results of the games between those clubs:
Nottingham 9-11 Birmingham
Birmingham 10-c-0 Nottingham
Because Birmingham beat Nottingham twice they have the superior record and would win (if Loughborough lose to Warwick).
All very straight forward!
