Purley 6s Tournament - July 27th
Hi,
Purley Lacrosse Club are hosting a 6s tournament on July 27th and would like to invite all interested players and teams to come down and play!
We'll be marking out two pitches at our home ground (http://www.purleylax.co.uk/directions.html) and will be running games throughout the day. We'll have a bbq on site and a fully stocked bar.
More details to follow, but if you’d like to reserve a team then email captain@purleylax.co.uk or PM me. We’ll also be putting one or two scratch teams together so get in touch if you’d like to sign up individually.
Like last year we’ll also be running weekly 6s over the summer with an open invite.

How much is this to enter a team? Is there any chance of teams camping on site?

Wilmslow would like to enter 1 maybe 2 teams, just need prices and camping info as above
Re: Purley 6s Tournament - July 27th
Glad to hear there's so much northern interest! As we thought it'd be mainly southern teams we didn't think about camping, but there's loads of space so I can't imagine it'd be a problem. I'll get in touch with the rugby club and confirm.
As for price, we'll confirm that with the rest of the details but it'll be pretty reasonable. See you all in July!

Have just noticed that this 6s tournament is on the same day as the SEMLA 6s at Blues. Intentional or a boo boo?

Re: Purley 6s Tournament - July 27th
The Centurion SEMLA Sixes is open to all teams competing in the SEMLA Flags competion. Additional new sides intending to enter in the next season may also enter the minor competion. It's on Saturday 27th April this year.
•There will be three divisions - SENIOR, INTERMEDIATE AND MINOR, corresponding to SEMLA Flag Competitions. The starting times for each division will be notified on the acceptance of entries. The event will, however, commence at 11.30am.
•The Blues bar will be open throughout the event, and there will be a barbarcue and snacks at modest prices.
•No club (save at the discretion of the Co-ordinator) shall be entitled to enter more than one six from each team they have in their respective leagues. A six can comprise a squad of eight players; substitution will be allowed at any time. Regular players from Senior and Intermediate Flags are disqualified from a lower competition.
•To enter you can download an application form on The Centurions website. Please complete it and return to the address specified with the relevant fees - £50.00 per six by 13th April 2013. Cheques to be made payable to the 'CENTURION LACROSSE CLUB'.
•Team Captains must report with a list of players to the Co-ordinator upon arrival at the ground but no later than 15 minutes prior to the start time. A player will be precluded from taking part in a lower competition than the one for which he is originally nominated.
•Each game will last 5 minutes each way except for the finals which will be of 7 minutes duration each way.

Re: Purley 6s Tournament - July 27th
Those were the days..
It was played at Lee LC. For many years it was a more open format with Manchester Grammar and Birmingham and Leicester featuring on the role of honour also. The Centurions even entered a side then.
For some time it has been restructured in the current flags based format for southern clubs.
Try Stockport 8s - they take anyone!
