Purley 14 - 9 Bath

Hard fought game on probably the firmest patch of grass left in the country. Was pretty tight throughout with both sides missing a few good chances, and the keepers coming up with some good saves.

Cheers to the guy refereeing his first game, thought you did a good job. Hope your shoes were still in one piece by the end!

Cardiff vs soton pretty much as expected to a degree. Soton were down 3 or 4 players from full strength Mainly in d, and mor physical guys which would have helped! but even with those players it would have been more that 10 goals in it. Quins look to be finding there rhythym and providing they get a decent team out each game I reckon it's ten plus victories all the way in, with bristols defence being the only potential problem area! Good game, played in good spirits but crap weather! Hopefully this season willsee quins in the prem where they belong!

Birmingham 6 - 4 UWIC

Quarter Scores:
Birmingham 0 - 1 UWIC
Birmingham 2 - 1 UWIC
Birmingham 2 - 0 UWIC
Birmingham 2 - 2 UWIC

Bad day at the office for UWIC, defence played very poorly and Birmingham dominated throughout the course of the game. Birminghams defence especially were well drilled and kept UWICs experienced Attack out of the game for the majority of the game with UWIC only having probably a maximum of 10 shots the whole game.

UWIC are going to have to work very hard on their defence if we are to stand any chance against Quins in the next 2 weeks.

Well Done to Birmingham certainly not a team to be underestimated this season.

EG 8 - Spencer 12 (I think)

Was a good competitive game throughout & despite the loss i thought we had some good periods of lacrosse. definitely a vast improvement from last week's performance!
Oh and cheers to Spencer for having us at their ground as our's was waterlogged!

Liam. Did a good job. Few hairy moments on the clear as he couldn't throw with Conrad's stick

Thanks to Welwyn 2 for the game yesterday. A lesson in lacrosse from a well drilled side fromwhich we have learnt a lot. An easy game to referee with only a handfull of penalties, so my thanks to all the players for that. Look forward to the return game and maybe we can score!

Spencer 2's 18 vs Spencer 3's 6

Good hard fought contest with no real ease up from either side. Possibly the best the 3's have palyed this season with an all round good performance and great work from Stevie G - my man of the match by far.

London Uni 5 - 4 EG A

Close game with London having that little bit extra in attack. Some good spells from EG who are looking a bit more like their old selves, we'll get that win soon! Thanks to London for the grub, when we eventually got to the pub! Hope you managed to get your goalie stick back!

Interesting match played in a bit of a monsoon, Massive thanks for Cheltenham for letting us use their ground, otherwise it'd would've been 4 weeks without a match (our normal pitch was waterlogged). Some good play from warwick, but it certainly showed that for some it was their fist competative game!

i wasn't playing but i know that we had a lot of fresh playing - our keeper, 2 d poles and a few middies
from the sounds of the weather and the state of the pitch it was interesting as a first match for them but it'll definitely help their game getting thrown into the deep end!

Surely honourable mention has to go to Mike 'Dr Evil' Kline, who, on about his 4th or 5th head check finally snapped his poor stick clean in half. As Ian said, fully committed contest on both sides. ;-)

Sam you're missing the multiple take outs on Louis, especially the early doors one. But overall I think Stevie G excelled above him - we expect tht sort of thing from Kline when he drages his old body out to play - which I hope will be more often
