Best of the Rest - East v West
Hi everyone,
As you may well know each season there is a game between the East and West Ventrans and then a game for the 'rest' afterwards. This year is no different. The best of the rest game is open to all players, from all teams in each region.
Date: April 4th 2009
Venue: IBIS Centre, Reading
Games: East v West Vets, Best of the Rest - East v West.
Times: TBC (Chilli, can you confirm this please?)
I understand that the Vets game is already being organised by someone, it seems to illude me as to who it is though.
I have volunteered to take control of the the 'EAST' side of the Best of the Rest game.
Anyone who is interested in playing, has played before and would be interested in doing so again, please get in touch with me as soon as possible. If you are interested in reprosenting the EAST please PM me.
I understand we are still looking for someone to take control of the West team so offers should also be made public. I think we are looking for a squad of about 15 - 20 players, the game is all for fun and everyone will be getting equal game time as far as physically possible.
Cheers everyone, please PM me now with your name, position, club and I can get you on board.
Steve

The original idea was that it should not include Premiership players as the dominance of the Premiership by the East would skew the game too much.
As usual the biggest obstacle to making anything happen is finding someone who has the guts to take on the responsibility for organising, so unless someone does for the West, it looks like there will be no game which would be a big shame.

just to point out that a fair few people will be leaving to go on tour on that day...... just when thinking about numbers and if letting prem players play.

Dunno on that, although obv the prem teams have (jn general) a team of good players, i rekon you could get a competative team from the various west sides
