As far as I know it's the aggregate win over the two legs.
No reference in BUCS made towards away goals so I assume if scores are equal over two legs the game will go to OT.
Special mention goes to the geographical hilarity of the south play-off with the two teams from the east and west who are furthest apart of all teams in those divisions playing each other, oh and then a 'short' trip to Brighton for the victor.

well deserved win from lufbra.
i have to say that Some Leeds met players were NOT a credit to their institution. As a referee i should not have to put up with being verbally abused during and after the game. Dissappointing because Both teams had talented lacrosse players however Lubra seemed to have more restraint and respect.

Re: BUCS Promotion Playoffs
Whophead, I urge you to report the abuse to the BUCS authorities.
Until every ref adopts a zero tolerance policy we cannot expect numbers or standards of referees to improve.
Reporting abuse is not a sign that you failed but that the team's players/coaches/management failed.
if you don't report it then the clear message to everyone at the game is 'you can say what you want to a referee and get away with it'
How many potential referees did that abuse deter from ever wanting to ref a game??

Re: BUCS Promotion Playoffs
Well done to Loughborough, as disappointed as I am for loosing Im glad you have finally got into the premiership. It was a good game, a bit scrappy at times but all of it was left on the field. True some Leeds Met players may have lost their temper at times after some seriously questionable calls, but nothing can be done now. Well done again to Loughborough
Re: BUCS Promotion Playoffs
I dont really appreciate comments such as
"your a F**king discgrace to the game"
"Your F**king S**t and dont know what your doing"
acceptable escpecially when one player goes out of his way to come over and say it too me.
"you lost us the game" ......Not true, that was a combination of Loughboroughs attacking threats and transition game working well. Some fine saves and ill discipline resulting in numerous penalties.
by my estimation there were approx 5-8 mins of leeds met penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct, including one for the captain in the first minute after all players were warned that abuse directed toward the ref would not be tollerated.
An observer representing the ELA felt that the game was called fairly other than a crease dive goal which was disallowed that he felt should have stood.
Game was called as i saw it.

Like I said we lost our temper, Im not promoting that sort of conduct. And I wasnt disagreeing with you sending them off for unsportsmanlike, I was talking about other calls such as the body checks, but as I said before all left on the pitch.

Re: BUCS Promotion Playoffs
Well done to Loughborough, they fully deserved the win over the two games, they were better prepared and wanted it more, Good luck to them next year and i'm sure they will do well. In terms of the refereeing, the referees in the game today were absolutely poor, most decisions went against Leeds Met, this wasn't the reason for the defeat but it definitely didn't help, i think this annoyed people a lot due to the fact we had extremely fair referees in the home leg that gave everything equally. Lets not let the whole refereeing issue ruin what was a great game of Lacrosse though, all the best for next year Loughborough!

I Agree that the refereeing did not lose the game for leeds.
Loughborough played well
Leeds Could not keep their discipline....decisions go against the team that break the rules of the game

Re: BUCS Promotion Playoffs
Well done to Loughborough on their promotion.
It sounds like they totally deserved the victory and kept their heads cool to take the promotion.
As for any abuse of referees, totally unacceptable whatever the situtation. Without the people who give up their time to referee these matches we would not be able to play the game we all love. There are always games where you will probably disagree with one call or another that a referee makes. But you man up and accept it, and adapt your game for the day accordingly
*******edited to remove any offence*************
I'm assuming that you must have done a referees course to a) know what you are talking about and b) be in a position to judge.
Take a deep breath and think about what you are saying.
Whopead, thankyou for taking time out of your life to referee the match. See you around soon on the Yorkshire circuit.
