BUCS results 02/02/11

Postby sj247 Wed Feb 02, 2011 11:21 am

early one...
Brunel concede to Kent AGAIN, for a lame excuse, lack of ref. Really annoyed about this, coach was booked, team was hyped and then i get a call saying they can't find a ref. If the brunel captain had bothered to contact myself or our captain we would of used our qualified refs. I was even prepared to sit out and ref the whole game. To explain my bitterness... we should of played 6 games by now, only played 2 :(

That's awful.

Aberdeen beat Glasgow at home 6-1 in a very hotly contested game.. Glasgow were very unlucky several times and despite only having ten men they gave it their all.
I believe this leaves Aberdeen in second place based on head to head scores with Stirling.

Quarter Scores:

5, 1

Cambridge 11 - 1 Birmingham

A fun game to play in, we got to blood a lot of freshers which is always a good thing.

Edit: BUCS have got it down as 10-1, not complaining :\

Portsmouth 2's 5 - 11 Essex

Apologies to the Portsmouth guys for any hard feelings.

I for one am a massive supporter of what you're doing with respect to developing lacrosse in the south and to hear that you're getting 60 guys to your training sessions is bloody amazing!

My thanks are extended to the Bris D for covering me in more bruises than ever before!

Fun game, so frustrating to finish on a draw!

York 6 Leeds 6

Good game, very physical and a bit scrappy but clean and enjoyable to play. Leeds scored about a second after the final whistle had gone! :)

Reading 8 Chichester 11

6-6 going into last quarter I think, until Chichester's shooters really turned it up.

It was a hard game with both sides going all out for the win, but a pleasure to referee. The standard of lacrosse was excellent. Good luck to both teams in the knockout. Sorry I had to dash off straight after the game.

Quarter scores:

Bristol 2 - 5 Warwick
Bristol 6 - 8 Warwick
Bristol 9 - 11 Warwick
Bristol 12 - 12 Warwick

Trent 6 - 3 UEA

Tough match with Trent travelling light against an at home and on form UEA. Both keepers had a great game apart from when our goalie decided to play as defence, knock a UEA player down and then instead of going back to goal sat and apologised to the lad who had already passed the ball out to another player.

Another result from the prem.

The Hallam v St Andrews, Postponed, re-arranged, re-re-arranged game.

Hallam 1 - 0 St. Andrews

St. Andrews unable to fulfill new agreed date, walkover to hallam.

Waiting on BUCS Ruling so i'm told by our union.

From what we've heard, doesn't giving a walkover in the prem mean you are demoted and banned for a certain number of years from it?

No relegation from BUCS prem this year. That was made clear at the start of the season.

Yes, i'm aware of that, but this wouldn't be standard relegation, the idea would be that it was a punishment for failing to field a team.
