Going out on a bit of a limb here but think Canada can do it again. They certainly have the tools.

1) USA - Can't see the US letting Canada beat them again although I think everyone would like them to.
2) Canada
3) Australia
4) Iroquois

I'd love to see England get into the top four though, what summer 2010 is going to be...

1) USA - Same as other opinions, i think they will up their game to make sure they beat canada this time.
2) CAN - Will fight hard but wont outdo the US effort.
3) ENG - Ever the optimist
4) IRO - Prefer to see these guys up here rather than the aussies.

1) Canada - Everyone seems to be backing the states but I think the canadians will show us again what they can do.
2) USA - big favourites from most people and not without reason but think they could be done over.
3) IRO - Love these guys and hope they do well but don't see them as a threat to the big 2.
4) Aus - Would be nice to see England here even though I'm Welsh but I think the Aussies will just pip them to it.

1. USA
2. Canada
3. Australia
4. Iroquios

I don't think England are going to have enough to break into the top 4 on what I have seen of them in the build up. It is early days though and hopefully the trip to the States will give them a better idea of where they should be heading.

Sorry

Postby dunk Wed Oct 14, 2009 8:05 pm

Sorry boys,

England could not reliably clear the ball on Loyola, which ain't even a top flight US D1 team right now. England will be lucky to make the top 4.

Not sure what your definition of "right now" is :?: You base this opinion on fall ball? I'd suggest they are a top flight team based on what they've done the last few years. We don't how good they'll be next year.

2007 final rankings - 13th
2008 final rankings - 9th
2009 final rankings - 12th

They made the NCAA tourny in '07 and '08. They were 9-5 in 2009. Their five losses were to Notre Dame, Duke, UMass, Cuse, and Hopkins. They lost those 5 games by a total of 7 goals, including a double OT loss to Hop . All of the teams they lost to made the NCAA tourney.

By my definition they are certainly a top flight D1 team. Give England some credit.

Why the anti US bias?, just curious.

Mis read that the first time...

I'm not really particularly anti USA but I would say Canada would still be viewed as the underdog even as champions and everyone likes the underdog...

Plus we met a few of the Canada players last time and they were great fun, re-strung some of our sticks and were generally keen to chat with us which gets you on their side.

Loyola

Postby dunk Thu Oct 15, 2009 3:54 am

Sorry, I am a grad of Loyola and a diehard fan. They simply are not yet an elite team, seldom going deep in the tournament. I wish this were not so, because Charlie Toomey is a great coach. I am afraid he will depart for greener pastures.

OK Dunk you're much closer to the team than I am so I'll defer to you on that. I guess it comes down to what is elite. Are they on the level of Hop ,Cuse year in and out, no but top 10-15 rankng the last few years puts them in the upper echelon IMO.
