New Rules for MLL

Postby Bme Wed Nov 05, 2008 1:13 pm

So for the next season they have introduced the option to field a 4th long pole and upped the maximum number of players ona squad to 19. How do people think this will affect the MLL? Will it lead for lower scoring games or not? Will it slow down the transition? Will it allow more opportunities for new long poles coming through to get game time or will it entice former long pole players back to their original calling?

I read an interview with someone (forget who) who said that he's played LSM for four years at college and suddenly there's no place for him. At least that situation will go. I think it'll help since scores were getting silly. The shot clock will prevent too much negative play but it should help cut down on the number of middies who do a Rabil - up top, split dodge, shoot, jog slowly back for the next face off. Very impressive but frankly not as much fun to watch as the tight passes in and crease play.
