lacrosse team needed

Postby lifewithwendy Sat Dec 03, 2011 1:10 am

My daughter is 16 and is a goalie for a team in the states. She plans on playing in college and cannot find a local team to practice with. She found a team in Cobham however they are all amateurs. My husband is willing to coach. Please let me know if there is a team close to Weybridge where should would get good playing time.

Thanks.

Hi Wendy

I'm probably not the person best placed to help you with this, but I'll point you in the direction of this website to help you:
http://www.southlacrosse.org.uk/womens/ ... oder=Yahoo

You'll find all clubs in the UK are amateurs, as serious as we like to take the sport, it's no where near the level as the States. That's not to say the standard is poor, but only expect to train once a week and play once at the weekends.

Most teams would be grateful to have a coach, it would be probably best to check each team out and see which one offers the level you are after.

I hope your daughter enjoys her education and her lacrosse in England

Regards

Mike
