Wales Squad for 2014 World Championships Announced

The squad to represent Wales at the 2014 World Championships at Denver has been announced.

The selection was made by Head Coach Dan Funnell, assistant coach Martin Jackson and assistant coach Rick Summers with Wales Lacrosse Association President Gordon Shumack providing independent oversight to the process.

The 23-man squad is as follows:

James Richardson - Norbury
Simon Jones - Sheffield Steelers

Defence
Jon Mills - Hitchin
Mark Jones - Cheadle
Jason Jones - Wilmslow
Rhodri Evans – Sheffield Steelers
Matt Parkes - Bristol
Andy Hopkins - Hitchin
Chris Bishop – Hitchin

Midfield
Ryan Walker – East Grinstead
Rhodri Stanford - Hitchin
Eddie Owen – Manchester Wacs
Alex Williams - Leeds
Steve McDermott - Hitchin
David Howie – Walcountian Blues
David Leach - Hitchin
Alan Croft – Hitchin

Hitchin, is that a small village on the Western outskirts of Cardiff?

Definitely a few people who have trialed for England in that list too. Dual nationality?

Negative.

Criteria now extends to business trips, flying over and sailing past. Obviously, holidaying, visiting friends or wrong turns still count :wink: :wink:
