Epsom 11 London Univ 7

Great game of lax played in a really good spirit by both teams. Been great fun playing LU twice this year and reffing them at EGA. Any one playing them later this season be aware they do not give up. Top lads and fun to play against.

Spirit if the Game

I don't know the Reading/Blues details well enough to comment. BUT
I think some people are mis-understanding Rib's comments.
His example was Welwyn pitch unplayable can we come to you - yes game played.
We've had a couple if these this season - London first game - pitch problems therefore played at our ground. Norwich short if players couple of guys from Welwyn play for them - no problem. Northampton - league game we had problems - re-arrange league and flags together - no problem

What do we want to do - play lax or mess about.

Just my interpretation.

Spot on Ian.

The Blues have their own insurance. Reading could have transferred the game rather than cancel.

Now no game was played and Reading have the points. Great for the development of lacrosse.

Let's play rather than mess about.

Just to say, It was a really enjoyable game from my perspective (with the exception of the first 1/4 which was mostly shooting practice for blues! it got more competitive when we had 10, and had a fair degree of tension but was played in good spirits. Thanks to blues for helping out with the ground, the even got the goals out at their "away" fixture! :D

Thanks for the game

Reading didn't cancel the game, they rescheduled it. Presumably Blues agreed to the reschedule in order to play, so why didn't they subsequently play?

The reason for the original postponement in December obviously isn't the reason for not playing yesterday, because the insurance issue was resolved before Christmas. Ash is under the impression that the rescheduled date was mutually agreed between the two teams several weeks ago, but Blues pulled out the night before the game - do you know something different?

Let's hear the facts, rather than mess about.

Is it possible both BZ and Ash are right?.... some of us just want to play as often as possible, but on occasion it's appropriate to claim the points, for a whole heap of reasons!!! Not many results, so thanks to Ash n BZ for providing some entertainment!

Great to get back playing again after a SIX WEEK lay off! Way too long, particularly with cancellations and 'messing about' so which teams would be up for a casual 2013 Christmas tourney next year??
We've got two pitches at Epsom and would be happy to host. Could do it last Saturday before Christmas to help fill the void. Let me know if you're up for it.

As long as you don't let Chennell and Harper marinate the oranges.
