Epsom beat London 12:9. Crap last quarter - lost it 6:2. Must try harder would be my report comment. Good bunch of guys from London though and they will get stronger during the season.

EG A 8-2 Cambridge Uni

Not bad for a 10 man EG squad. Thanks Cambridge for travelling down, nice bunch of lads, good luck for the rest of the season! Oh and thanks to John and Kieran for reffing, 2 refs, we were spoilt!

Hitchin won @ Welwyn 14-9. Good game played in good spirits (pretty much).

I was expecting a close game in the Blues 2s vs Welwyn 2s

However Welwyn 2s were a bit weaker than last year. Blues 2s a lot stronger even missing a few poles.

Blues were more clinical in attack and had the stand out player in No 54

Quarter Sccores

Blues 5-0 Welwyn
Blues 10-0 Welwyn
Blues 15-0 Welwyn
Blues 17-1 Welwyn

Was a pleasure to Ref, even Mr Groves did not complain too much but then again I only sent blues players off.

Nice way to start the season.

Hillcroft 10 (i think)
Quins 4

Hillcroft looked really good in offence, a couple of impressive new additions that will do them well if they stick around for the season. Their 5-0 3rd quarter really signed, sealed and delivered the win. I think that they could have put an extra couple on the board in the final quarter, but concentrated on running through a few sets they hadn't played earlier in the game.

Quins have some new guy's coming through from the second team this year, who really put in a good shift, and as the season progresses we should gel better as a unit.

Hillcrofts field of dreams is an awesome venue.

Buckhurst Hill 7v3 Hillcroft A
10 spectators at Roding Lane for a cracking game between rusty Buckhurst Hill and the fun-loving crowd-scene that is Hillcroft A.
Never a flowing goal-fest but a competitive match with signs of the quality required for both teams to succeed in East1. Fun to ref this one, thanks to both teams.

ps Tip for all E1 hosts when Hillcroft visit; stock up your bar and clear the dance-floor for a post-game party.

pps The last time I was involved in a BHvHillcroftA game was 1977. It's good to see the club growing again.

Cheltenham 11 Portsmouth 7.

A good tempered game which was close throughout, 2 goals in he last 2 minutes from Cheltenham made it a little more comfortable in the end.
