Early one but Oxford have conceded our rearranged game for this Saturday. Just London U to play Sunday to find out wether EG or Maidstone get promoted to E1 this year.
Re: results 14/4/12
That's a shame, I guess not a huge shock though...
Re: results 14/4/12
I'll predict London Uni don't have their full squad available as it's out of term (I think) so odds-on a Maidstone win and promotion. Looking back at their fixtures, Maidstone have had a really strong second half of the season and are on a 6-game winning streak. Their last loss was at Spencer 3's back in January and that was close run thing, proceeded by a single goal loss to EG 'A'. I can't recall a previous season in East Div 2 where promotion (or relegation) has been decided on anything other than a head-to-head record between teams on equal points. A few seasons ago the Spencer 2's just pipped Northampton by a single goal. It's a 4-goal swing that could give Maidstone the edge over EG 'A'. Heartbreaking for the teams who just miss out, but no denying it's exciting stuff.

I tend to agree with Rob - my guess is London will be a no show.

As you don't have a game on Saturday you should go to Reading and play in the Best of the Rest of the West v Best of the Rest of the East match (face off 1pm).
Afterwards you can watch the play off match between East Grinstead and Bath (face 3pm).

I'd love to but can't afford to keep driving to reading south and counties in the last couple weeks and there for flags again next weekend

Re: results 14/4/12
I believe I have just heard hat London have also conceeded, can anyone confirm? Looks like we pay for a poor opening game of the season against Maidstone. Well done chaps

Cheers guys, yes this is true. Thanks for the kind messages - to think that first game, we turned up with not our strongest team, saw whitey put on an EG shirt and thought we were going to get destroyed.
Re: results 14/4/12
It looks like it's congratulations to Maidstone then on securing promotion - good luck in East One.

Cracking Play-Off game played at great pace. Congratulations East Grinstead, but I'm sure Bath will come back fresh and keen for the Intermediate Flag final next Saturday.
The vast gray pool of Veterans was split into teams of Black and White shirts; Blacks win 7-6, surviving a late White onslaught of two goals and barrage of shots in the final two minutes. As for the pace of the game, take the EGvBath example and divide by about 1,000. Great fun though. Thanks to Ian Ballantine and Reading LC for organising.

Showing that a few of the grey cells were shed during the game, Dave! Whites won it 7-6, surviving a ......
A great, fun game and at that sort of pace I reckon we've all got another ten years yet!
Thanks to Ian B, Trevor and Debz for reffing and not laughing too much.

As they say Dan & Dave "It's not the result that counts it's the taking part"
Congratulations to East Grinstead on thier promotion to the Prem and to both teams and the stripey's for providing a great game to watch and a sign of how strong the top of East & West One are - watch out Prem boys.
