EG 2s 3-9 Epsom
Played at Epsom. With 3 referees!!! Good if physical game. Epsom started like a train to go 4-0 in the first quarter. EG tightened up after that but could not get much past an inspired Sam in the Epsom goal. Epsom comfortable at the end.
Was fun and interesting to use the 3 man ref mechanics. And Epsom hospitality was typically good.

Canterbury 5 v 8 Swansea Hawks.
Hawks with only 10 players but a Great game and hospitality after the game. Now on a 250+ mile journey home. And through to the semi's in the plate

Good natured game and great final quarter by Welwyn, think we won it 3-2.

It was a really good game today and a pleasure to play in despite being on the losing side for the 2nd week in a row at the hands of Epsom. The reffing was excellent. It makes for a much more enjoyable game when it is reffed well. Many thanks Greg & co.
Epsom were without question the much stronger side and I hope they go all the way and win it. Best of luck chaps.

Really ugly scrappy game with both sides knowing it could have a huge influence on their season. Both teams played their hearts out and contested every square inch of a very wet muddy pitch. Brilliant fun to play in and honestly could have gone either way right up to the dying minutes. Great fun to be a part of, looking forward to the return fixture alreeady!

Rare treat to have THREE refs. They did a magnificent job throughout so big thanks to Greg, Debbie and Ian. Tough but enjoyable game with both goalies in awesome form. Highlight was Epsom's Jon Schofield rolling back the years for a D masterclass. The first quarter blitz was crucial for us as EG stepped up and pushed us hard for every second of the game. Great bunch of guys who play with spirit and sportsmanship. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Intermediate Flags Round 3
Bristol 2s 1v15 Buckhurst Hill
A really interesting game, well-officiated by the team of Miles, Fresher, and CBO StratfordRaider BobChapman. Stalemate first 10 minutes, then Bucks got a grip and exploited almost every first half possession to score (8-0). The Bristol coaching team reviewed the situation to stifle the visitors' attack with a subtle shift of emphasis; cue the second 10-minute phase where you could actually see Bucks' minds in action, and then they settled back into a scoring rhythm.
It's clear that this Bristol team is under-rehearsed and fresh to the game, but they have a lot of potential.
Thanks for the game and for the excellent hospitality.
