Norwich beat Hitchin A 12 - 4

A good match from hitchin as they only bought 8 players with them and as they tired the norwich squad depth showed. A good win for norwich.

Chichester 9-8 Welwyn 3

Quarters
1-1
1-6
4-8
9-8

Thought it was all over by half time but a great comeback from Chichester and a real nailbiter at the end.
Winner was a creasedive from behind with 30s to go!
Thanks to Welwyn for a top game. See you for the return leg!

Penarth 0-10 Quins A

After a scheduling mix up by the quins rugby teams game was relocated to Penarth. Penarth conceded for reasons that will become clear shortly so a friendly 8's game was played instead.

Croydon 13/14 - 2 Brighton

Sure it's 13 but may have got one more, but was a good match to play in, Brighton kept on fighting to the last quarter. Thanks for hosting, hope for just as good a game 2nd time round!

Purley 6 - 4 Bombers
Bath 17 - 5 Bombers 2nds.

Hard fought match against purley, we seemed to have a lot of possession, but just lacked the cutting edge at times. Hopefully the return leg will be a different story.

As for our 2nds, just going on what I heard on the phone. Sounded like the score was 8-5 going into the final quarter. The 2nds only had one recognised pole and a very scratch attack thrown together, so the score going into the 3rd quarter was pretty admirable.

Birmingham - 8 Portsmouth - 7

Quarter scores:
0 - 4
4 - 4
6 - 5
8 - 7

Extremely tense game, portsmouth keeper had some great saves in the first quarter which kept us tied down to 0, but once we got going we had a game on our hands. Away game will be interesting :) cheers for coming guys!

WEST 2: Aberystwyth Uni 1- 9 Bath City 2

Quarter Scores:
Aberystwyth Uni 0 - 1 Bath City 2
Aberystwyth Uni 0 - 5 Bath City 2
Aberystwyth Uni 1 - 1 Bath City 2
Aberystwyth Uni 0 - 1 Bath City 2

Aber let down by the 2nd quarter, other than that we held our ground, fought hard and had a lot of fun. Thanks to Bath for coming all that way, you guys showed our freshers a great start to the season. Smiles all round our side. And exactly half the score from when we last played you, I hope Aber can keep this intensity up :D!

EGA 6 Epsom 6

Good game of lacrosse and well played by both teams. Epsom should have probably won it but JP in the cage did a good job as did Sammy at the other end. Good fight back by EG. Fun to ref and great hospitality by EG afterwards.

Thanks for reffing (and Debbie). We could've nabbed it in the dying seconds had you blown a moment later ;-) Enjoyable but frustrating game, looking forward to coming up to yours later in the season!

Exeter quite a few - Bournemouth 2?

a good game, with 2 inexperience teams (with a few exceptions!). Good effort all around, both teams noticeably progressing throughout the course of the game. nice weather too!
