I reffed the minors today with Hickey. Great job done by all the players and also our CBO Cookie. Hope you enjoyed your day. I thought the level was much higher than in the past and the behaviour of all players outstanding.

Congrats to Purley on the Senior Sixes Champs.

And Rob Collinge and his team on the organisation.

I would just like to echo Ian's post - I reffed the seniors all day and i there was a lot a good hard, clean, play and the behaviour of players was outstanding. There were only a handful of penalties all day and it was great fun to ref, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thanks Rob for another great Sixes tournament and in particular the gorgeous sunny weather we have all come to expect at Blues.

Congrats to Purley.

Some thrilling games in the intermediate i thought! A whole load of games with only one in it and a few upsets including the Maidstone beating portsmouth which on paper had to be shock of the day!

Reading went into the final with portsmouth pretty much spent, having played the second of two semi finals and we then went straight into the final having had no shorty subs all day and having played tough extra time games with Bucks and Maidstone which had definitely taken their toll! Meant there was nothing left in the tank and playing against the best intermediate team on paper meant it was always gonna be an uphill struggle and pompey ran out deserving winners.

Cheers centuriond and blues for a great day.

I'll second that - found myself on my ass more than once in a particularly bruising encounter in the group game! I guess it's just player availability that is causing Marham problems in moving up in the leagues, because from what I saw yesterday they have some real talent.

Also really enjoyed watching the Maidstone - Reading semifinal in the intermediate division, a very fast-paced and closely fought game. Many thanks to everyone involved in making this day a success once again. It's a fantastic start to another summer full of tournaments.
