Purley v Cardiff

End of Quarter Scores

Purley 0 v 2 Cardiff
Purley 3 v 3 Cardiff
Purley 4 v 3 Cardiff
Purley 5 v 5 Cardiff

It was a great game to referee, which was played in a very good spirit.

Apologies to Quinns that I couldn't stay for a beer and catch-up, not having seen you for ages, due to a dinner commitment.

Hampstead 8 - 8 Hitchin. Good game, tight all the way through. Lead changed hands several times. Fair result, even if it's a little unsatisfying for the american contingent!

This result means we've had 9-8, 8-9 and 8-8!! Good bunch, evenly matched.

Southampton City 16 - 9 Warwick

Really good game to play in, Warwick scored straight from the first face of the game but Southampton fought back during the first quarter and managed to keep the lead for the rest of the game. Really pleased with our team performance today and many thanks to Warwick, who were excellent sports throughout, for making the long trip down.

Bristol 13-6 Quins A

Quarter scores (I believe)
6-0
6-2
8-5
13-6

Recovered from a first quarter pasting to really make a game of it till Bristol stepped up a gear in the final quarter. Bristol could and probably should have been into double figures by end of first quarter but we responded with a second quarter shutout. Just edged the third quarter to give us a sniff of a chance but some clinical finishing early in the second put the result beyond doubt. Great game to play in, we really enjoyed it. Big thanks to Bristol for hosting and particularly Nick and Stuey for playing for us so we could play 10v10. Best of luck in the league

Southampton Tridents 1 - 10 Bath 2nds

Southampton never really shook off the Christmas rust and looked as if their minds were on their upcoming exams for the entirety of the match.

scores by quarter and (scorers) for Paddy

1 (33) - 4 (26x2, 28x2)
- 2 (26 , 95)
- 3 (1x2, 55)
- 1 (26, possibly 25 (Pen fail))

Cheers to Bath for coming down and hopefully the injured guys ankle makes a speedy recovery.
Currently M.I.A. - I'll be back.

spencer 3: 7 - london uni: 7 (not sure exactly of the score, but a draw. Spencer had the lead for most of it, but London uni wanted it more and clawed back for the draw near the end of the match. Thanks london uni for all coming down to the club and trying the hot sauce. Sorry about our poor turnout.

How weird is that, all 3 spencer teams drew today!

Just a small correction as you can see from the scorers..
Southampton 1 - 11 Bath 2nds

Really enjoyable game dampened only by Mike Careys injury.. couldn't move his ankle at the end of the match so hes in hospital now awaiting the results of the x-rays.

Cheers to the referee and thanks to the southampton boys for hosting us.. good luck in the rest of your fixtures.

Hitchin 'A 5 v 11 Maidstone

Maidstone ran hard and fast, with Hitchin a little slow out of the starting blocks. Hitchin picked up their game in the last qtr and started to find the back of the net.

Brighton 11 - 5 Reading twos, according to the CBO and the ref.

Strong performance from Reading's keeper, making a succession of brilliant stops to keep his team in the game. James Nott, Matt Young and Kieran Balmer played a very disciplined game in D, not giving up a single penalty. Graham Monaghan was back to his devilish best, scoring 5 and pulling the strings to provide a couple more assists. Brighton also saw Tom McLarnon make a welcome return following an 11-month layoff with a knee injury.

Perhaps the best thing about this game was seeing three Brighton freshers get significant game time and a rookie referee step up to do a half. Massive thank you to Ash for captaining his team in a manner that allowed the ref to find his feet, and I'm sorry the traffic was so bad that you guys couldn't stay for food afterwards.

Epsom 12 Bristol Bombers 2 14

Good game of lacrosse and a win well taken by BB2. We squandered too much possession too easily and got smashed on the break by the younger legs of BB2. Well deserved win and it was nice to play against a team from the West we would seldom get to see play otherwise. Thanks for making the journey and hope you had a good trip back home.

Amazing game, with London losing the first quarter 4-0 and managing to slowly drag it back and scoring the equalizing goal with 5 minutes left. All of our freshers showed a huge amount of running and willing to chase down every ground ball, and our experienced players stepped up to the plate, not losing the head when we were chasing a substantial margin. Thanks to Spencer for giving us a great game and showing great hospitality afterwards.
