Southampton Sabres 2 - 21 Bristol Bombers

Good game, started slowly, which wasn't helped by a broken down car and bad traffic leading to match starting a little late. Good second half performance from us, hopefully bodes well for bath next week. Will be interested to see the score between bath and pompey.

Oh and cracking win by England today, hopefully bodes well for the 6 nations and world cup next year!

Bath 9-10 Portsmouth

Really good game. Pompey lead through out and just held out as Bath pressured for goals at the end

Brighton 8 v 5 Croydon

AWESOME game. Highly competitive, brutally physical but littered with moments of sublime skill from both teams.

Brighton waltzed to a 3 - zip lead at the end of the first only for Croydon to totally dominate the second quarter and make it 3 - 2 at the half. Croydon's keeper was outstanding and some of the interplay between #42, #10, #19 and #50 was causing the Brighton D fits. However a composed third quarter saw Brighton stretch their lead with three more goals, one of which saw #17 Ben Western beat four players and finish with aplomb, and Croydon were restricted by #56 James Nott and #89 Alex Stokoe to just one goal in reply.

The fourth quarter started with Brighton leading 6 - 3, but Croydon scored two stunning quick goals to set up a nailbiting finish. A succession of big hits by #18 Kieran Balmer disrupted the Croydon offense, and Brighton scored two more goals through #99 Ryan Waldman and #4 Graham Monaghan to close out the game. Final score 8 - 5.

Special mention to #35 Tom Beechinor who scored his first ever SEMLA for Brighton and, as a fresher, will be severely punished for this :) Many thanks to Croydon for coming down and giving us a big scare, and also to the ref who handled a tough game very well indeed.

Swansea 7-8 Harlequins A

Quins edged an ill tempered South Wales derby and very nearly got punished for a lack of composure in the second half (leading 6-3 at half).

Canterbury vs Welwyn 3's.
8-4 to Canterbury.

Relatively low scoring game given the amount of opportunities both side had on goal! I can't remember interval scores.

Big mention to #37 Chris Griffiths for scoring 7! Thanks for Welwyn for coming down and the pint after the game, was a nice day, pitch was abit of a bog but high energy game with lots of fun.
