Blues 2's 12 - Hitchin A 4

Most of our goals came end of the third quarter onwards, very close until then, great game.

Hitchin 'A' 4 - 12 Blues Tooz

scoreline doesn't do justice to Hitchin A- it could have gone either way. Hitchin 'A' were first to score, then one goal adrift at half time. Both teams traded goals in the 3rd quarter then Blues edged ahead by 2. Blues Tooz moved it up a gear in the fourth quarter, scored 5 and sealed the win. Hitchin 'A' defence put in a fine performance along with their goalie who made several outstanding saves. Amit had a tough day, hitting the post several times before finding the back of the net!

very few penalties and played in good spirits. a pleasure to ref today. thanks to both teams

Q1 1 - 0
Q2 1 - 3
Q3 2 - 4
Q4 0 - 5

Final score 4 - 12

Maidstone 9 -5 Blues 3s

A fun game in the end...thought we were on the wrong end of a big beating at half time (5-1 down and could have been a lot more), Blues with 11 men stormed the 3rd quarter but ran out of steam in the 4th and Maidstone deserved their win. Some very well taken goals at both ends. Good to have a few beers after with the guys...a very good setup and a creditable new addition to the league.

Well done to Brighton a very good win over Croydon.

Reading 10 - 25 Blues

They dominated the face off (I think we won 4) and they were extremely patient in attack moving the ball and wearing us down. Good game despite the margin.

Croydon 6 - 9 Brighton Panthers

Both teams played brilliantly against each other, with great play and goals from both sides... I think that what did it for Brighton was their athletic ability... Croydon were up 5 - 4 at half time, we just ran out of energy for the last few plays...

Great close game throughout though, and properly enjoyable...

Cambridge 5 - 2 Buckhurst Hill

Very very close. 2-2 going into the final quarter, Cambridge managed to pull away towards the end. Bucks goalie had a great game, including a painful shot to the throat.

Canterbury vs UEA to be played for double points away at UEA.

Maidstone 9 -5. Great game, maidstone running down the blues with weight of numbers and fitness, good fight back from the blues but to no avail. Pub was a laugh tho :)

Bristol Bombers 29 - 0 Warwick Univ

Interesting match played in a bit of a monsoon, Massive thanks for Cheltenham for letting us use their ground, otherwise it'd would've been 4 weeks without a match (our normal pitch was waterlogged). Some good play from warwick, but it certainly showed that for some it was their fist competative game!

How did the pitch hold up and what was the weather like?

Drizzled away and their were a few slip ups (mainly from bagley actually) but was still firm when the game ended. Should be fine for the South Seniors vs Wales match tomorrow as the trials will be on the other pitch from what I've heard.
