- x15 or more "Legit" Pull ups

why are all the pre-reqs for upper body strength? (Bench -chest and tri's, pull ups -back, dips -tri's)

No idea.
Apparently most universities/colleges look for the big 3 - Bench, Squat and Deadlift (all 1 rep max).

The US Army had a similar obsession with upper body when I went out there a few years ago. I asked the Sgt why they put so much into upper body strength when the Brits do more endurance leg and fitness work. I was told it was essential for when you get into hand to hand combat.
I tried to explain the precise function of the rifle we'd each been given but was told to shut up and do the chin-ups...
