Re: Penn State 2011
Interesting stuff; never heard the word "excited" used so much, so the Penn State season should be fun.
Maybe we take the LDOs for granted, so have others similarly succeeded?
What do you reckon Tambroni learned/experienced at H-M, and was he obviously going to make a lacrosse coaching career?
What does Penn State have that Cornell doesn't, or is it just a new challenge?

other success stories
Rochdale's LDO from 2 seasons ago Jon Hayes is on the Roster at the Boston Cannons, some kid called Rabil is keeping him out of the squad.
I was once part of the winning Pop Lacrosse team that defeated Wigan in the 1992 Greater Manchester Youth Games.

Re: Penn State 2011
Tony Resh, John McEvoy and Greg Traynor have all been pretty successful* since leaving Boardman & Eccles - a springboard to success clearly.
* Google them if interested as I'd probably get it wrong - all have played and/or coached at the highest level.

Beville and Scaramuzzino
Their biographies are thorough but no mention of a dark, wet winter coaching in the Old Country. Maybe they're succeeding despite their stint in England.

Great find, thanks for sharing. Oh to be young again.

Trust me, as they are grew up or played in the Syracuse area they were used to dark, wet winters. That's why I got the hell out of upstate NY as soon as I could
BTW, has anyone else noticed the common link for all these successful coaches? (other than being LDO's of course) Maybe they don't mind spending all their time away from home coaching

Quality team, not a pinched stick-head in sight. Who was the 13th man, and which one is DH?

Is Dave super-wide or does he have arms round the mysterious no. 13 and the obligatory team 'tache?

Gait et al used to bend their shafts to get the same sort of effect as the crankshaft/offset head. Check out the Katana shaft by STX - a new school version of the old school trend.

After watching The Secret of Our Success over and over circa '92 I decided to immitate the Gaits by whacking my aluminium shaft off the nearest tree repeatedly until it bent to the desired radius of curvature. That, along with the cycling shorts, extra chin guard and STX sticker on top of my Bacharach made me really good.

I think that might be Jack Simpson's! He gave me 6 assists on my first team debut with a similarly bent stick! Of course like Davo I went and did exactly the same with mine, and then sanded the white paint off to make it lighter.
I was once part of the winning Pop Lacrosse team that defeated Wigan in the 1992 Greater Manchester Youth Games.

So, perm these three reasons Tambroni gave today for moving to PennState from Cornell;
1. Moving closer to his in-laws.
2. To enhance his children's education.
3. To put his own stamp on an undeveloped lacrosse programme.
