Brooklands conceded against Newcastle as they wanted to play some under-16s, so Newcastle got the 1-0 win. Some impressive play by a couple youngsters meant Brooklands won the 'friendly', with Newcastle lacking penetration in offence.

The Knights still have a lot to work on to reach our potential.

So you didn't feel you could beat the juniors so claimed the points?

If the game had been played as a league game it would have been 8 or 9 vs 13 (and one of the brooklands players had been brought down by me), so that wouldn't have been a worthwhile game for anyone. To drive 5 hours and not play a game at all would have smarted very much, so a compromise was made, meaning we got a game and the u-16s got an early taste of seniors, including one who will probably make his full senior debut next week.

for someone who is well aware of the joys of making long journeys and the potential trials and tribulations of div 5 (and in fact, didn't have a game this weekend due to a team not being able to field enough players), that sounded like a very negative comment (EDIT, was it just missing a  ?)
The only time he takes his foot out of his mouth, is to put the other one in!

Brooklands didn't want to play with a short team and didn't want trouble from the ELA for playing u16s, so insisted we took the points but played anyway so we hadn't wasted the trip down. Good bunch of guys to be fair, and a couple of their youngsters have bright futures ahead of them!

Also, I've gotta give a hand to two of our starting offence who grew some massive cajones and took turns playing in goal. Legends.

what has happened to davo?
League restructure I told you so 10/3/2011(looking good on this one)
Prem division to two leagues will result in the prem division failing and being combined with Nemla 22/3/2012
the proposed restructure to 8 teams in each prem league will only last a couple of years until it has to be restructured again due to teams dropping out. 13/12/2012

Spontaneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung). I'm going to have an operation to put it right for good - to stop it happening again. Depending on when it is I probably won't play again this season.

Boardman play as a team and have enough quality to pick up plenty more points this season.
