Div 2
Nottingham 18 Ashton 5
Ashton only had 11 as 2 got lost and by the second half they were trying to even up the numbers with slashing and late hits. Not a pretty game but no Nottingham players seem to be badly injured.
Q1 7 - 0 (Wil Sugden 3, Dan Macken, Jonny Clark, Dave Gill, Tom Giddings)
HT 14 - 1 (Sugden 2, Gill 2, Dave Raybould, James Pilkington, Dan Macken)
Q3 16 - 3 (Macken, Pilkington)
FT 18 - 5. ( Luke Johnstone, Macken)

Anyone know much about this game? that is a very low score! I know the Boardman Goalie is very good though....how about mersey d and Goalie?
3rd hand as I didn't see the game
Boardman dominated time of possession, Mersey A Defence & Goalie are good for D2 (not conceded more than 5 Goals in a game so far)
Boardman lost one of their best offensive players to hand injury
Mersey A attack tried to force it too much due to lack of possession which led to errors and turnovers
Boardman LDO Goalie is pretty good
Altogether leads to very low scoring game
there are lots of close low scoring games in D2, same as last season

thought that was the case. We lost 8-1 to Boardman with a weak team but they did not seem to be the most potent attacking team. The D is BIG and yes the keeper is very good. I think the top 5 in D2 this year will be quite close. good times.

Boardman v Mersey A ;
both goalies had good games, shame nobody was taking stats, i'd guess the mersey goalie made 20 saves +, if not 30. Some poor shorts, some great saves. Boardman Played 3 quarters with 11 players killing the ball and keeping posession. 2 of our long poles (beef + rob grub) helping out with periods with short sticks in attack.
All in all, boardman havnt conceded more than 7, mersey 5, it was always gunna be a low scoring game. Good game however.
