NEMLA fixtures 2012-13

The usual question at this time of year!

Anybody know (cough.. matt Nugent) when the fixtures will be releasesd as we need to book pitches for home games

deafened by the silence! Womens fixtures are out....can we have mens fixtures please? any nuggets of info from anybody?

I heard plan for games most saturdays up until christmas and the same again in the new year until easter? It wasn't a reliable source though..... :lol:

I was once part of the winning Pop Lacrosse team that defeated Wigan in the 1992 Greater Manchester Youth Games.

I heard it was more like: play on most Saturdays up to end of November (apart from inexplicable break on hottest Saturday of year - for England get together - in October), turn up at 12noon on the first couple of Saturdays in December to be told that "the games are off and that's screwed your weekend hasn't it?". Third Saturday in December play in mud. First Saturday after Christmas play on ice then the next few weeks called off - all on the day of the game of course. Play a few more mud games in the dark then a few more called off. Play 80% of the rearranged games after the Yank has gone home / other 20% nobody can be bothered with as it's April. Flags weekend.

Games unlikely to be called off in Newcastle this winter. Have pulled a deal with Newcastle uni on use of their 3G field during December and January (and maybe bits of November and February if we're lucky!)

On a serious note, why does it take so long for fixtures to come out? Women have got theirs, SEMLA fixtures have been out a good while now.

Not very helpful for clubs trying to plan the year ahead..

First fixture on the 16th Sept? or would it be the 23rd? cant remember when they usually start.

Lincoln City will be playing their home games on 3G this year, though there will be no lacrosse markings on it!

Ha no duct tape needed, the 3G at Lincoln has markings for restrainers and wing lines, and we'll have pop out creases by the time the season starts!

Steelers A v. Poynton A next Saturday in play-off for place in North 1.

Maybe fixtures will be released after that?

Does any body have a contact email for anyone on the NEMLA committee who might actually be able to tell us when we can expect the fixtures? Figured it's probably bteer to ask the people in the know the question rather than each other..
