Closest Lax club to Kingston Upon Themes, Surrey

Postby Kev Thu May 01, 2008 12:42 pm

Alrite guys, around Oct time I'm going to be living in Kingston. The first thing that came to mind was what is the local club for the area? I'm desperately lookin to get back into lax due to the fact I've graduated and there's no teams near sunny North Devon!!

Blues is the closest club to Kingston, about 15 minutes drive from the Tolworth roundabout on the A3. Details on the Website www.blueslacrosse.co.uk

think its a draw between blues, spencer and hilcroft. would suggest a training session with each to decide or something as they are all easy travel from you.

Of course all teams would welcome a new player!!! I suppose it just depends what you want / need from the team!

Both Blues and Spencer are good clubs, riding high in the premiership, both have LDOs, as well as strong development programmes, with spencer having 2 teams and blues this season introducing their 3rd team. Hillcroft are a great team with a good team spirit, and some very experienced players.

The teams at Blues are a mixture of uni (and US college) grads like yourself, older more experienced players, and young very enthusiastic players. there is healthy competition for places on the teams at blues, regular weekly training and of course we host the mighty bluesfest!! haha.

if you're coming to bluesfest stop by and have a chat with us. spencer and hillcroft will be there too.

good luck with the move! xxxx

Spencer would probably be the easiest on public transport - mainline from Kingston to Earlsfield runs every 15 minutes and takes about 20 mins max.

If I moved to Kingston I'd have to think about if I had a car or not, but Spencer would probably be the easiest to get to and from from a impartial point of view.

I moved from North Devon last year up to London to seek my fortune in the city.......I went and played for Hillcroft as they were closest club...we have seen a year to rebuild this year and have hopefully picked up some new recruits for next year.....all north devonians come to Hillcroft!

A bit pricey, but if you're earning the money, it's a nice place to start!

you would say that ball boy!

Hey Kev you would be more than welcome to join the Spencer ranks. As someone pointed out in another post we are by far the closest and easiest club to get to from Kingston. Trains leave Kingston every 10 minutes and take about 15 mins max to get to Earlsfield where the club is based.
