Postby Delmonte Thu Apr 28, 2011 8:20 pm

Hi guys,

I can only assume some of you lot may follow the NFL, have a team etc.. considering we play an American sport.
If so i wanted to see what you thought about the season just finished, hopes for next season and who you feel like you would want to grab in tonight's Draft for 1st round picks, Fridays 2nd and 3rd picks and finally Saturday's 4th - 7th round picks.
Canterbury - 04-06
Welwyn Warriors - 06- to current date

watched most of it

NFL makes Premiership football look like a pub league

Professional sports not just pro because they get paid.

The NFL has the worlds best athletes

for the record I think Cam Newton at #1 will be a bust, his interview with John Gruden was eye opening & first comment post draft was funny.
He's just been picked first in a $100M job and he announces he is going on vacation

#28 Mark Ingham going to Saints is a good fit filling a hole left by Reggie Bush being injured all the time

Patriots getting a 6' 8" OT to protect Brady is good :D

Detroit Lions getting Nick Fairley added to last years pick gives their D-Line a scarey look

I agree, Cam will be a constant story, whether or not he succeeds. At that price, he might be a bigger story than his new club, so it's a risk. The NFL will be a big step up for him, and he'll be a big target.

My favourite pick has to be Julio Jones going to Atlanta. He'll settle in very well there.http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/prof ... ct_id=2744

The scouting report on Brady's new friend is interesting http://ogdraft.wordpress.com/2010/12/27 ... ng-report/

I'm also looking forward to seeing how my cousin Razorback DJ Williams gets on. We're all very proud of him. edit - just found this DJW item from SportsCentre's science team.

Agree 1000%

As for the draft itself, I'm a Bengals fan and our first five picks made be grin like a small child on christmas day:
1- AJ Green is a near-olympic standard athlete and, from his interviews, he appears to be the polar opposite of Chad Ochocinco in terms of work ethic.
2- If Palmer is really done, we have Dalton.... If Palmer stays, he grooms Dalton, because his selection in the second round means he's not expensive.
3- I don't know much about the DE/LB from nevada but his measurables mark him out as a BEAST. And he plays my old position
4- Clint Boling was projected to go mid-second round and we got him in the 4th - instant upgrade on the offensive line.
5- Robert Sands is a big, fast, mean, sonofabitch to plug in and eventually replace Roy Williams

I just hope the labour dispute gets settled - September without football would be not cool.
