our finalizer using faceman got called up last week by the ref because the ball got stuck in the back of the really pinched bit on the head. the stick is unmodified and not illega for normal play but was ruled illega for faceoff in that game. I don't know if its how its trung (something to do with sidewall strings) and it is a grey area with refs as to how often it needs to happen and how easy it is to release the ball. So watch out finalizer lovers.
not a face off man myself but I'd imagine the revo-pro is quite good, stiff and pinched

The finalizer does pinch its self after a while of facing, esp if your a predominant clamper. And on a muddy day will get stuck alot

DIFFERENT STICKS ARE GOOD FOR DOING DIFFERENT THINGS SO IT DEPENDS ON WHAT MOVES YOU USE. FOR EXAMPLE I THINK BLADES ARE THE BEST FOR QUICK CLAMPS. IM STUCK BETWEEN WHAT STICK I PREFER, WHETHER IT IS THE BLADE OR THE STX X2.

The point about the ball getting stuck in back of stick is an interesting one - see other thread. It has happened to me and is because the stick is pinched, but also strung on the inside or something. But should only be illegal for face after twice getting stuck.

Stud =nutz :lol:

I was led that if the stick at face got the ball stuck as long as player could remove ball - but not using his hand it ws ok

Am i wrong here

I believe the correct ruling should be:

First time stuck: re-face called

Second time stuck: ball awarded to opposition, stick declared illegal for face, but no penalty.

Donno about that cheeky, theoretically you could string a stick to trap the ball and the only way to get it free was shaking the stick around really violently.

Isnt it, that if the ball does not come free from the stick on its own accord in under 4 seconds its illegal?

Or something random like that.

Maybe, but in reality what Cheaky and Dommo are saying is correct.
And if its stuck, then its stuck! I've never seen one come out of its own accord once its in like that! maybe if you ask really nicely it will!!!

I think its down to the refferies discrestion.

he could check it him self,
call a reface,
or hand the ball over for with holding the ball from play.

If a stick check is called by the other team, the reff should place the ball in the back of the stick then judge wether it comes out 'freely'. That stick can then be made illegal to face with with but leagl to play with.

Happy got me with that in 2 games in about a month, that sucked!

Bionic is a great stick. the only problem i've had is its weight. I now recommend the proton poer, because it has everything that the bionic has but with a reduced weight factor.

a Box stick because the side wall is already lieing allong the ground when ur down at the face off, only need to flick ur stick down and you have it clamped.
not sure if a box stick is legal in the field game (dimensions)
and i dont really know becuase i dont face..
