I only started playing this year, and just like 'Dave254023' got a Warrior krypto pro kevlar from ebay....happy days, got a mate to bring it back! onyl cost like £70...absolutly quality shaft so far. played a good few games, damaged people and broke/bent/dented too many other peoples shafts to mention and the good old kevlar is lookin sweet!
just got a 6ft hickory though...should be interesting to see how it goes! played with it for one training sesh and was suprised how good it was to play with. nice and sturdy, looks imposing and wont warp i hope!
lets hope it doesnt snap around some poor buggers body!
any other views on hickory?

I've done worse than playing agianst the wooden warrior, I've been part of a D that included the wooden warrior. quite a harrowing experience. i think it was oldham or ashton or somewhere, we were on a pitch that was a quagmire and had a little stream or something down the side of it. the wooden warrior was making one of its ocassional appearences. we lost. gah.
The only time he takes his foot out of his mouth, is to put the other one in!

I got myself one of those hickory shafts from cheekylaxstuff...i must say i love it! its not as heavy as i hoped, but its a nice step up from the krypto-pro in terms of wieght and the types of checks you can make!
ive heard that the red devil big D shafts from canada are heavier and absolutely immense...anyone know anything about them?
my mate just bought the eurolax longsword aparently its a good shaft, well one of them broke his warrior shaft which was meant to be pretty strong so i guess they must be!

I was using a hickory D pole until a few matches ago... It was my baby, my treasure, my intsrument of immense pain... then I snapped it against someone's chest while playing Royal Holloway, don't know who it hurt more, me or him Right now I'm looking for a replacement shaft since it wasn't actually mine... Meanwhile I'm carving one for myself out of mahogany. It's hard and heavy... it's gonna be AWESOME! I'll get the REVO Pro head on it with a trad pocket, that head is nice and sturdy with a good, basic design.

Yeah sorry bout the shaft, was a good check though
Gotta say i find the longsword a pretty fine shaft especially for the price, though obviously dont have the weight of a decent hickory shaft
