Goalie Head Stringing

Postby samaleyo Sat May 08, 2010 9:11 pm

Anyone know any good guides to stringing a goalie head?

I've never really been taught, and in the past have just gone for it and hoped for the best. Does anyone have any good advice/info on obvious things I might not know?

Cheers.

some of the american forums have some awesome efforts, particular favorite of mine is trad strung goalie sticks using the 'bowling ball and rebar' rather than ball and knife approach.

Not tried it myself

This is the one I use but instead of using 17D like in the tutorial I use 12D. Its pretty easy to string any kind of mesh with this really its all just down to preference of mesh type

Are there any other good goalie stringing tutorials out there? (Our club stick is currently strung with softmesh (insert throwing-up smiley) and I cant get a decent depth pocket into it without it whipping into the floor)

also any comment on choice of mesh (Hard vs Soft) and preferred No. of diamonds?

There's some serious effort going into the spam at the moment, anyone know where I can sign up for a job doing this? :D

Indeed, looks like there's some good money in it! I'll have to get involved too.

Stringing with boomer. He does the best tutorial out there I find, simple to follow and the stringing is great. I found with the bottom lace, the way he does it you don't get a deep pocket but it throws extremely well; just mess around with the bottom lace until you find the right balance for you.
