Best tour for 2010?
Reading Uni Mixed Lax team is looking at going on tour for the first time this upcoming year. The two main thoughts are either Salou or Dublinfest. However, these coinside with one another. Any suggestions as to which is the better option?
Also, are there any other tours of a similar nature that I may not know about?
Cheers

Varying benefits to both and they can alternate between the two each year but usual arguments:
Dublin:
more lacrosse
better standard of lax
no 48 hour coach ride (last year with no drinking allowed)
Salou:
better weather
cheaper booze
better nightlife
However both will usually claim to have the better nightlife and the weather over the last few years has tended to actually favour Dublin. As raptor says though - most people will favour wherever they're used to going. Try finding someone that's been to both or perhaps alternate between the two each year or (last resort) put it to a club vote?

Don't let the distance alone put you off saloufest. It's not to bad at all really.
I haven'tbeen to Dublin for a tour, so can't really comment on it's playing standards. but saloufest is a tourist resort and as such perhaps caters more for rowdy student behaviour if that's what you are in to.
My only real criticism of saloufest is that maybe it's too big, which can make for big gaps between games and too short games. Personally I'd rather not have the stadium and have somewhere that has 6-8 pitches instead. The playing facilities in my opinion aren't up to the capacity the tournament has grown to.

Sunny Manchester Easter 2010
What's wrong with putting up at a bed and breakfast on the Stockport Road over Easter; messy games with Wacs and Heaton Mersey; upside-down pies, chips, gravy, and red cabbage, followed by gallons of Boddingtons; finished off with the Eights on Sunday. You can't beat that for a proper tour.
Plus, isn't there some little event being prepared this season?

48 hours to salou?! im pretty sure it didnt take that long lol, its about 20 hours from calais. You can drink on the coach if you want, just not right infront of the driver, the coach ride just adds to the all round epicness of tour
it was a bit rainy the second day last year, and that night was very wet, but i dont think anyone was sober enough to care that they were soaked right through

Salou last year was evenly split between the mens, womens and mixed. I doubt it'll be any different this year.
It looks like lax in Salou is going to be week one this year anyway, so if you we feeling particularly vengeful towards your liver you could do both Salou and Dublin...
Or you could take davewilliams up on his offer, which does look appealing.

I choose only Salou is the best one.
Ive been to neither, Ive heard Dublinfest is awesome though.. UWIC this year will be going to Salou as for the past whatever years we've only ever gone to Dublin and the Captains decided on a change of location

And the year before it was hot and sunny in Salou while it snowed in Dublin and there was no hot water in the showers.
Swings and roundabouts eh?
