Quite a lot of girls schools do specify new students to use wooden sticks. When I was at school some 13 years ago only 6th forms were allowed to use plastic sticks. I think part of the reason is that if everyone has the same stick, then no one will feel too special/left out (like the school uniform ...

yub, you can take the ball outside the goal circle and technically speaking, anywhere on the pitch providing the team has certain number of players behind the restraining line. However, under IFWLA rules, goalies can't score, most likely due to the stick (see http://www.laxforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php...

Make sure you remember to use the stick and not your body to stop the ball, keeping possession is your main concern. Once you've got the ball inside the circle, you have 10 seconds to clear it, or you can take the ball up field. That's definitely not frowned upon, unless of course there're more than...

Actually, the retraining line rule only states that: 18.A.2 A team must not have more than nine defence players below /goal side of the retraining line in their defense end of the field. One of these nine players is usually, but not necessarily the goalkeeper. and no more than 8 players below the ot...

IFWLA rule - goalkeepers can't score
As it turns out, regardless of retraining lines, according to IFWLA rules (aka international women's lax) 19.17 - "The goalkeeper must not score a goal for her own team"
what a bizarre rule...

They should at least offer web res copies for lower price, or volume purchase discount, its called business strategy. As a matter of fact, I do run my own company and when we do these events, we definitely don't charge like that (regardless of price, we provide more options) and no, we're far from b...

Personally, I really like the Level. Both Ace and Level are very similar to the debeer ones (Apex for instance) only that I find STX shafts feel nicer on the hands. I guess it'll depends on personal preference, level, age group and location(!) your gf plays at, as the legal sticks list for U21 Engla...

half way line
There used to be a rule in ladies lacrosse that the keeper can't cross the halfway line, does that still exist anymore? or do you just need the certain amount of people behind the restraining line regardless position?

actually I have played a couple of drizzly games and a torrential rain game, both were fine actually. The water just runs straight down and doesn't even leave a mark. (think about the angle of the wind screen and the angle of the helmet mask, the latter is vertical!) In fact, its really good for hea...

Just thought I'd update this, since I did give the shade a go to see if its any good. Bearing in mind, I think equipment is all to do with what you use it for and how suitable it is for your case. Since I'm a keeper and most of my games are played at mid day, glare is a major issue. After using the ...
