Re: Lacrosse Teams in Essex
Currently there is a club in Colchester which has men's and women's sections, and there's a club in Buckhurst Hill which has just a men's team. Contact info is on the SEMLA website, or I'm sure they will see this thread at some point. There is also a brand new club starting in Chelmsford. If you're ...

It would be extremely helpful if all those interested could email englishuniversities@gmail.com so we have an idea of numbers.
Cheers.

Re: Lacrosse in Cambridge
Are you interested in Men's or Women's Lacrosse? The Cambridge University team has lots of non students playing for them in the South England club league, and all are very much welcome. If you want to play women's lacrosse your nearest club is in Hitchin, but they also have men's and junior teams if...

Re: South Elite
Well to be honest I don't really have many opinions on the topic! The only reason I replied was because it was implied that we can't DISCUSS elite competition just because juniors aren't very developed, which seemed an odd reason to me. However, if we asked, "Should we be doing more to increase...

Re: South Elite
Youth development is important, but it won't increase the standard of lacrosse in the South on its own. It directly increases the standard of lacrosse in the south. The more players you incorporate early, the better the players will be and the standard will improve. With or without an elite structu...

Re: South Elite
No. And for good measure, I heartily despise management gobbledygook such as "building competence". Does the south need an explosion in youth participation and development? Yes. Far more so than it needs an elite structure. Surely it's not an either/or decision? We agree that It's importa...

Re: Any Teams Need a Goalie?
In a weird coincidence, I'm also a goalie, also from Brooklands, also moving down to London at the start of December!
Any other clubs looking for a goalie? No offence to Maidstone and Colchester, but both are a bit too far out of my way...

Re: LaxAllStars.com England Exhibition Game-Players Wanted
Sounds to me like yet another ArchLevel debacle to join the long list of events that might have been. Is it now time we all woke up and send promises are just words and actions don't tend to happen with ArchLevel. Catalogue of disasters in my opinion. Well done Spencer on actually getting something...

Re: Mentality and Equipment
I don't think shin pads slow you down enough to make a real difference. And if not wearing them at all means that you can't make the save then it's fairly irrelevant anyway right? Bottom line: Wear whatever you feel comfortable in to get the job done, and f**k anyone who says any different. John Mar...

Re: County Championship 14 May Reading--ESSEX TEAM
I know myself, Jesse, and Matt will want to play so that's a long pole and two attack. If you are interested reply here so we can start getting some sort of roster going. Should be a good day of lax if everyone gets teams together. You guys can't play on an Essex team, as far as i'm aware the regio...

Re: South England Universities Trials/Info
So what's the final squad for this? Would be interesting to see the distribution of players from unis in different areas and how this has changed over the years. Is there still a strong Midlands influence like last year? Not sure I have the authority to post the final roster, but the final squad is...

Australian Lacrosse
Does anyone know anything about Lacrosse in Australia? Where are the hotspots? Has anyone from the UK been to play there? Any info/knowledge/anecdotes welcomed. Re: SEMLA East vs West Play-off Game April 2
Think Cambridge did the same before when the won East 1, but conceded the play-off game for promotion to the Premiership. According to this: http://www.southlacrosse.org.uk/history/league.html Cambridge haven't been eligible for the East v West playoff before - that is unless there is already a pre...

Re: SEMLA East vs West Play-off Game April 2
Wow, lot of Cambridge hate going on over here. I'm surprised that we've given the impression of being 'part timers' or content with dossing around. We take our lacrosse seriously, evidenced by the fact that we worked hard all season to win East 1, win Varsity and put in a good showing to come 2nd in...
