Take your pick from the 1998 World Finals:
Marachek, Gaits v's Millon, Hubbard, Powell et al.

Bad picture but probably one of the greatest games ever played and the heroes of us 30-ish year olds!

Re: Referees Trophy 2011 - Cheadle vs Stockport

I wasn't paying that much attention to the game but I can tell you that Wilmslow have a lovely new car park - tarmac with painted lines and everything. About time that got sorted! Must have been done very recently considering that it was all still the old surface when I saw it a couple of months ag...

Re: Referees Trophy 2011 - Cheadle vs Stockport

Does it 'eck mean you need a scoreboard. the die-hard fans will have followed every second of the game, many of the others will have been catching up with friends/team mates/ the bar. Don't forget a key part of being a participant or fan of a sport is an element of FUN!!

Re: Referees Trophy 2011 - Cheadle vs Stockport

Of course if they had changed the font and the pictures there would be 3,000 more people watching and every clubhouse would have 30 posters up and all the members would go to their Club out of season see the poster and feel compelled to go to the game. Or have a missed something. WHINGE WHINGE WHING...

Re: Counties

Why not have the county games kicking off the season? Allows August for weeks of trials and training then early September a big weekend?

Re: ELA Priorities - What is it worth?

Every major town and city to have an established playing club. 5-10 years.
High School lacrosse leagues: Imagine replicating Cheadle + Marple through 20-30 more colleges and schools?

Re: Get to Know ArchLevel Lacrosse

Base it on the NHS - free at the point of use (but with higher taxes, ie Subs to the ELA to fund things) If you are serious about being a better played you will consider programmes like this. Most people aren't so that's fine, as the sport gets bigger the market for people choosing to take a step up...

Re: Whats a good way to get pumped before a game ?

Arguing over who gets the XXL shorts, who filled the water bottles up last week, who drove to the last away game, why we've only got 5 balls, shooting too hard on the warm-up (never me) ........................tends to work at Rochdale anyhow :D

I would suggest they are providing outcomes highlighted in this article http://www.lacrosse.co.uk/news/huge_growth_in_lacrosse_confirmed_rss1538857.shtml Not designing a new website focused on a few established clubs in the North which should be able to promote themselves after over 100 years of exp...

Re: ELA Website

Dining Room - can you please explain why you believe it to have been the "best World Games ever"? I think it was a marketing disaster really. Unless you were from the lacrosse community, you didn't know it was going on. Certainly everyone I know from Manchester who don't play lacrosse had...

Re: ELA Website

The website isn't great but I guarantee if they launched a £10k super-fancy mega website there'd be uproar in clubhouses around the UK.
Also don't forget that last year the ELA organised the best World Games ever and lacrosse is growing exponentially which in itself must present a challenge

Re: Mentality and Equipment

Size of the goal makes a difference I'd have thought. Ice hockey goalies are taking advantage of the small goal by trying to fill as much of it as possible. Our goalies will never be able to fill the space effectively and still remain dexterous enough to cover whatever net is still exposed. In cont...
