Re: Hidden Ball trick

It does not matter if the contact is on stick or glove, if whacking the f*ck means what I assume it does then the play is either uncontrolled or unnecessary roughness, or maybe the Stockport version of whacking the f*ck out of someone or something is rather different from that experienced elsewhere...

Re: Goalies - do you have to field a goalie?

I feel that it would be unsporting and Dangerous to start a game without a designated and equipt goalkeeper. Why unsporting Matt? Canada removed their keeper near the end of the World's Final in Manchester, 2010. I can understand why you would seek to change the the rules, to prevent that, simply o...

Re: Goalies - do you have to field a goalie?

The ruling given at the weekend was that you must start with a designated keeper fully equipped. However, you suggested that the rule changes have been agreed by the MPC but have been circulated for approval by the clubs? That means the ruling was somewhat premature?

Re: Goalies - do you have to field a goalie?

Trigg, I can understand why you would consider such a rule, simply because of the issue with safety when a defender seeks to take the place of the keeper, and the ref trying to determine if that has happened without the regulation equipment. However, has that now been implemented, because the ruling...

Goalies - do you have to field a goalie?

Interesting question arose at the weekend. Goalie was late arriving - question was 'can you start the game without a goalie?' For sure you can withdraw the goalie during the game, as we saw at the World Championships Final in Manchester, 2010. It happens regularly in box lacrosse. However, is there ...

Re: Lewis Ratcliff receives two year ban

<null> Whitey, it just surprised me that no one had even mentioned that Ratcliff was an England International. I have a pic of the England squad from the Worlds 2010, immediately after their last game, where they came over to acknowledge their supporters. All except 2 players, who stayed over at th...

Re: Lewis Ratcliff receives two year ban

I would think that the NLL's stance on this is exactly what the FIL wanted as they tread the path of credibility with the IOC. Has everyone disowned Lewis Ratcliff, or is this someone different from the player who represented England at the World Indoor Championships in 2007, and again outdoors in t...

There you go then, can't wait to see the Warrior handbag range! Cash in while you can! We did have the very thing at one time ... the Warrior Tote Bag. That was one that DH missed when accusing Warrior of their use of inuendo in their product naming! Well laden it would certainly have been a handy ...

Careful, I thought this aspect had been put to bed. You could awaken King Kenny from his slumber..... 78.3 Where two players from competing teams are fighting and a third participant enters the altercation, then the third man into the altercation may be expelled from the game. 'may be' = provided h...

Re: Results 16/2

As part of the last team to beat a full-strength Stockport, I can say that I didn't get full satisfaction after one of the goals bounced at least three times and should have been saved. So I can see what dalglish is getting at. Shame that Davo, but I guess that could be said about Chris's long rang...

Re: Results 16/2

Surely the nature of the game will lead to 'late hits' and 'high hits'? Not all late hits are penalised and the laws take account of that, but to suggest that retaliation was 'well deserved' is not the best comment in the circumstances. Retaliation, though often understandable, is never acceptable. ...

http://www.lacrosseplayground.com/womens-lacrosse-headgear-helmets-maryland-hb-1123/ Is this next? Re: Wrestling dropped from Olympics

Yeah, what I meant is their is probably more potential there, in terms of larger volumes of ticket sales at more popular games and perceived excitement (BMX seemed to get in on this basis). Agreed London was a bit if an exception, but as lacrosse won't make the games in the short term we will see i...
