Will be good to be back - they have funny ideas about training down here, and the pre-match warmup is just all wrong! 16th December I'll be back - Cheadle better watch out!

Seriously though, hope everyone recovers soon and things get back in shape, would be a shame for it to all fall apart.

Ah typical, you leave a club for a term at uni and it all falls apart...

Better get this sorted for when I can get back for a couple of matches!

Oops, didn't mean to be so controversial! Just to stress the first words of my post - "I don't know..." Our captain is trying to sort it out at the moment. I know we are trying our best to fulfill all fixtures though - we played the first game this year after only 1 training session and wi...

I don't know for certain but I think we're trying to rearrange the hampstead match. If that's not possible then I guess it makes sense for us to cancel that and play BUSA as realistically we've very little chance of beating Hampstead

MW wrote:Happy Laxer, do you play for both Oxford Men's and Mixed? Do you use your men's stick in your mixed team?

Just to skip back a bit (and without wanting to get into the whole stick debate...) Yes, I do play for both teams but I use a womens stick in mixed (our whole team do for that matter)

Oxford 16 - 3 Cambridge (or something close at least)

Was a bit of a one-sided game really with a more experienced Oxford side dominating. Cambridge did have some good plays though so hopefully shaping up to be a better fixture come varsity time!

Thanks for the sentiments guys. Just to give a quick update, Robbie has apparently broken both the bones in his lower leg (fibia and tibia?) but they're apparently remarkably clean breaks so should make a full recovery

Spencer beat Oxford 11 - 9 Was an awesome game though with the scores at the quarters being (I think) 2-2, 4-4 & 7-7. We just let them get away in the middle of the fourth quarter and they went 10-7 up and it was too late for us to come back. Was a great performance from an Oxford team still wit...

We had the Oxford/Herts score down as 18-8 but near enough. Was a bit of a scrappy game really with neither side playing especially good lacrosse but in the end Oxford just held our composure and were more clinical finishing which made the difference. Should be a good return match if there were lots...

Looks like there's only one thing for it, everyone in the west group will have to step up and join in Oxford's favourite pasttime - tab bashing! No use in moaning about it if it can't be changed, just go out there and let the lacrosse do the talking. I like the way everyone's assuming Oxford will wi...

I'm fairly sure Oxford have entered, yes (at least, our captain mentioned something about BUSA...) - why?

Perhaps slightly off topic, but is it just me or do CPXs come very high at the back of the head (ie not much protection for the neck area)? Just seen a couple of guys wearing them where they seem to stop half way down the head which seems a bit odd.

Yeah, 14 - 4 to Purley Was a good game but they proved too strong in just about every area. Their face-off team particularly must have won nearly 90% and our goalie being taken off injured in the second quarter didn't help our cause either! Altogether a good performance from an Oxford side who have ...

Just thought I'd put in a quick message of thanks to all involved in organising the tournament, especially for being so helpful when our minibus broke down! I don't know about other teams but we (Oxford) had some fantastic games, none better than the final against 'Team Innocent' - saved by the bell...

Womens 2nds: Cambridge won but not sure what score (poss. 14-8?)
Mens 2nds: 11-8 to Oxford
Mixed: 10-1 to Oxford
Mens 1st: 9-6 to Oxford
Womens 1st: 10-7 to Cambridge

Clearly Oxford mixed are (in my humble, unbiased opinion!) the best...

Great day of lacrosse and partying all round!
