Re: LDO scouting?

awesome let the bulls*it begin - we secured Crotty, apparently he is a fan of blue and has all the gear  Yeah, I talked with him for about 5 mins while in Manchester and he did mention that being your LDO would be the highlight of his year easily surpassing the NCAA title, winning the Tewaara...

Re: Lacrosse Talk

There have been a number of players that grew up and started playing lacrosse in the UK that chose to the attend univeristy and play in the U.S. In addition, there are a number of UK guys currently playing in the states. Occasionally on the forums you'll read a post from a young guy inquiring how to...

Re: Vandals ruin World Final Goal

Long been a tradition in the NBA and NCAA basketball to cut down the net after winning a championship, I guess they were doing the same.

I have told you a number of times but nobody is taking any notice of me. The German Sausage trick will enable them to win the World Cup in Soccer and also the World Cup in Lacrosse at Manchester. Because I'm an old fool you ignore me... but I have seen this in the tea leaves at the bottom of my tea...

Re: Predictions

I reckon Wales will win the grey division and have a good chance of top placing out of the non blue div teams, providing no other team is hideously overloaded with americans. As I said before, it will be tight between Wales and the Netherlands in that group. In our group, I have no idea. France, NZ...

Re: car parking

Won't be a problem in 2014. Other than the stadium and the fields, there is nothing but parking at d**k's.

After posting it's funny to notice that the actual name of the facility had been edited.

Re: Spectators accommodation & transport

Thanks, I'm good. You're correct, I was refering to the WC website "spectators section" where you book a room through the uni. You stay in the lax village in either Woolton or Richmond Hall across from the fields.

12 quid, 16ish? that must be different from the link on the website unless they've dropped their prices cause that shows it to be 26.50 at Woolton for a student.

Perhaps they have more than enough volunteers so it won't be an issue but it seems like more people would step up to help if at least provided a meal and a place to park within walking distance.

Any opinions on the best pub/venue for the French team to watch the football final as part of a team bonding session?

Ouch!

Re: own Food and drink banned- disgrace

Discouraging to hear that. I'm unfamiliar with the location so unsure about access points etc. As there is a separate ticket for entrance to the stadium, I wonder will the food ban be for the entire grounds or just the stadium? Are there any nearby options outside the gates? If so, still not ideal b...

DB, Not to be argumentative but this is not the Olympics so I can't see them altering/adding much. There are some trees onsite but most are of the evergreen (christmas tree) variety so offering little shade and there isn't a whole lot of greenspace other than the fields themselves. Certainly they ca...

In March ND played Fairfield (season 8-6) in Houston looking very lackluster in losing 10-8. I was at the game Sat and they looked like a totally different team, what a transformation. Rodgers made some awesome saves in beating Cornell.

I was there a few weeks ago for the MCLA championships and it snowed! July should be great though. The facilities are top notch with many Fieldturf pitches. However, it will be different from this year and London '06. Not sure what they'll do for an "athletes village" as there are no colle...

I am proud to call myself a citizen of the U. S. and while the murder rates in many of America's large cities has steadily gone down over the past couple of decades, the amount of violence we Americans continue to routinely inflict upon others is sad and embarassing.

Pressuring the ball works well in basketball too and has the same goal as pointed out by UKlaxfan. Good teams that can employ a full court press disrupt the team from taking their time walking the ball up and then getting set in their normal offense. This creates turnovers and fast breaks. Sure this...
