Re: New GB Council Ruling
Firstly, who and what is the GB Council? Can anyone unearth anything within the ELA Constitution that indicates what it is, and what its role and terms of reference are? Equally, does anyone in Lacrosse Scotland or Wales Lacrosse know where this council fits into their constitutions. Obviously, repr...

Re: New GB Council Ruling
Interesting, but what is the legal standing on this?
Will this apply eventually to the boy's academies as well? If not there's the possible question of discrimination?

Re: Free tickets for England v University of Louisville
England, fresh from a triumphant Home International series take on mighty Louisville a 'Top 10' US University team with full US team players. Bold statement indeed ..... but wildly inaccurate! Louisville were placed around 5th in the 'Big East' and overall I would guess they would be lucky to rank ...

Re: Sieverts on life at Durham University
So that American UNI is no benefit to American tennis players. do you have to pay to watch NCAA games? The difference is in the UK the tax payer funds the uni so we are paying for American players to fill rosters stopping English players playing and subsidizing foreign education at no benefit to th...

Re: Sieverts on life at Durham University
I can see it all now - Due to increased tuition fees and less government funding, less UK and EU students can afford to fill university places, both undergraduate and post graduate. This leads to universities looking further afield to fill places, maybe even postgrad lacrosse players on cheap Maste...

NEMLA 2010/ 2011 - halfway approaches
Has anyone else noticed the domination of the first half of the season by the 'big three' - Stockport (1st, A and B teams unbeaten), Mersey and Cheadle? This does assume that the stats are correct! Surprised that our eminent ELA Press Officer hasn't sought to draw attention to this (well, no I'm not...

Re: Unnecessary Roughness
A sensible answer, thanks for your contribution Don, appreciated as always!
The situations I've seen recently were in the Premiership, and were not called by the panel ref, so that would be consistent with some of your thoughts.

Re: Unnecessary Roughness
Which part of "deliberate and unnecessarily violent" do you say it's difficult to understand? Does your coach know that you have difficulty with these concepts? All three words are perfectly ordinary english and they mean the same in the rulebook as they would anywhere else. Any attempt t...

Re: Predictions 9/10
I doubt very much that Pom enjoys seeing a game of lacrosse not played. What he might be trying to point out is the irony of a restructure of the league which was imposed, particularly when one criticism of the old system was the travelling/ lack of commitment of the bottom teams. Irony is that some...

Re: Who's going to get promoted in Premiership Two?
Maybe we should just have One Big Club and they can play with themselves? Not a bad idea that one big club could be split in to individual teams within its self that could be organized in to a single 5 league system based on teams ability. Rather than a system based to convince people that by playi...

Re: Fixtures
In the North leagues the general rule for senior league games is that they should be played on grass rather than artificial turf. That leaves weekends as the only possibility - can't think of any grass fields available with floodlights. The reasoning I guess has been that not all clubs/ teams have a...

Re: The Death of American Field Lacrosse
....they will not be the ‘whipping boys’ this seasons top flight as the other South Yorkshire club was last season. I’d even go as far as predicting wins Vs. Mellor and Brooklands, with close games against WACs and Wilmslow. (expecting response to that :) ) Its good to start confident, otherwise yo...

Re: National Eligibility
An Austrian played for Spain in the 2006 Worlds. No other qualifying, maybe he'd been to Spain on holiday for the previous 3 years? Was able to because Spain and Austria combined to play in an 'Emerging Nations' tournament in Europe. He played in that game so was allowed to because theoretically he'...

Be interesting to see how shef uni get on playing with 15 in prem 1 this year against the 13 man squads of all the other teams...And to see how coaches at other clubs react Sheffield Uni will lose, so not an issue. Didn't realise it was that straight forward. I must not be reading the same script. ...

Re: National Eligibility
But the aspiring developing nation along with the possible non-passport players must present FIL with a lacrosse development plan for that country. This means you can't just go and play for the country, you need to have considerable input from the players for that country to be deemed developing. O...
