Re: College v Uni sport (elite/participation)
I believe they are playing twice next year, February and another time from what was said when we were up for Old Boys.

Durham vs England
Hopefully this will be seen more, but felt it needed some news. Durham women's first team played the England senior squad today. Durham won the game 17-7, a huge score to put past the internation side.

Re: College v Uni sport (elite/participation)
And, as I feel deserves a full post the womens team beat the England senior team today 17-7. Not the mens American contigent, the womens team which is a very strong mix of home grown talent with a couple of overseas athletes.

Re: College v Uni sport (elite/participation)
It's a very different consideration in comparison to many other universities though, Durham has an extremely high participation rate, something like 80% of students are involved in college sport, with leagues, matches every week. The article complained about the money pumped into the university syst...

Thought it was worth posting about. Durham 17- 7 Leeds Met. Leeds led first quarter 3-2 and were only down 1 at the first half before Durham ran away with it. Unsure of the rest of the quarter scores but by the sound of it it was one of the closest university matches Durham has had, with Leeds stack...

Try any hockey clubs around as they normally have astros at least/hockey pitches which are rarely used in summer.

Re: The Great Big Bad Durham Thread
They dont really spend money on the players most are just on Euro fees rather than international, and by winning the uni league they get more BUCS points therefore better funding. Kinda a win win.

Re: Mixed Lacrosse Rules
I found it to depend on the situation. With regards to fouls that is all correct. But from playing and refereeing at university it varies. Playing college we played straight womens rules, so no 5 second rule but tackling. For the university team we trained with both rules and would depend on the mat...
