Re: Cup Semi-Final Draw
In Prem 3, the two top teams have been that for quite a long time, Newcastle were certainly promoted before the cup was drawn and I think Cheadle Hulme could only finish 3rd at worst by the same stage (and even then only by concessions). We're certainly disappointed to be playing Cheadle Hulme at th...

Re: NEMLA PREMIER 1 PLAY OFFS
to be honest I feel like we're having the p*ss taken out of us here. I still haven't been told if we are supposed to organise things between us, or if something more organised is going to happen. I also don't know where to tell the person who is coming by train to book his tickets too. I have player...

Re: NEMLA PREMIER 1 PLAY OFFS
I've heard nothing official regarding the D2/D3 playoffs either. If nothing more, it would be very helpful to know if something is being organised somewhere, or if we should organise something between ourselves (Newcastle vs Nottingham) at a central venue for us, rather than Manchester? I suspect th...

Re: Silly Season question
Nope, no such rule in the English game, and people wail and complain about it nearly every game! Players on the field may exchange crosses. A player on the field may not exchange with a player off the field without leaving via the substitution box. As far as I read the rules, players leaving the fie...

Re: Silly Season question
I'd call it as an interference by reflex. After pondering a while, I think it is probably a hold by the defender. Either way, technical foul by defender, change of possession, don't be so cheeky next time!

Newcastle 5-19 Norbury Bit of a shocker from the Newcastle boys against a team they drew with earlier in the season. Clinical work from Norbury, excellent shot selection, regularly getting 3 or 4 chances before taking the shot. Thanks to Norbury for their understanding with our Goalie/ref/cbo switch...

Re: Fouling out to discourage.
First bit I wrote was wrong..... Rule 47 47.4 The organizers of a tournament or a competition may play the Nominated Defender Rule, if they feel it appropriate for some or all of the games in that tournament or competition: i) Before the commencement of the game, the Head Coach shall nominate a star...

Re: Results 2/3
Sorry to drag this back onto topic, but Rochdale 10-1 Newcastle Newcastle brought 10 men, 1 was a fresher from Newcastle Uni who was dragged out at the last minute, and the keeper hadn't played since leaving uni and ended up playing the whole game with 4 poles on the field. Rochdale defended aggress...

Re: CUP SEMI FINAL DRAWS
What was the rationale between playing the cup games that followed a round robin lead up as a free draw? Surely there should have been an advantage to coming top in the group? I would have expected top in group A would play second in Group B and vice-versa? Reduces likelihood of playing the same tea...

Re: BUCS Results 30/01/13:
Durham 1s 17 - 2 Nottingham 1s
Nottingham put on a much better show than the scoreline suggests and looked comfortable on the ball, certainly not intimidated, but Durham's offence finish so many of their chances.

Re: Pitch marking - keep it in
This weekend, I was informed that shouting "check" as a player put his stick up to catch a hail mary pass was worthy of an unsportmanlike conduct, but then opposition players shouting "get it in, keep it in" was left as being fine! (I am certain it was players as I could hear the...

Re: Possible league restructure proposals
Regards the Cup proposal, what are people's thoughts regarding the potential first round clashes of Stockport vs Ashton, or Cheadle vs Old Stopfordians? The size of the gulf in Prem 2, those could be serious cricket scores.
