Harrow Cup
It is good to see interest and enthusiasm for u17 level. That is why we initiated the Harrow Cup and we will have an u17 tournament before Christmas. u16 and u17 will also be able to attend the Engalnd Academy in the South and it is highly likely that we shall have an Engalnd u17 team in the future.

Holder Trophy
Sad to say , we cannot run u17 in the Holder , due to the strength of the youger age groups , thus occupying all the pitches.
We will try and run an u17 tournament before Christmas; 'the Santa Claus' trophy!

Holder Trophy
The Holder is set up for u12, u14 and u16. Maybe the organiser - Peter Compton could accomodate u17, we will ask him. Generally , it appears that clubs do not want to many u17 fixtures as the players are turning out in SEMLA league games. However, we could run an u17 tournament or 2 if players want ...

Uni SUBS
Well said laxfan. It is no good shouting people down, patronising them or insulting them. It just shows a lack of understanding for other people's opinions and views. Surely, the ELA has to show that its subs represent value for money, items such as the Magazine, Coach education, etc. Then if it is ...

Mr Git, I have news for you! I do have a place on the MPC , just as you say in the same capacity as Rick Summers. However, nobody advised me about the meeting , otherwise I would have taken part. Not blaming anybody here, but I now I know we have one in November. I'll be very interested to see what ...

Cheeky,
Good idea, but a one dayer might be more realistic for a tournament.
Right now we are looking at staging a county tournament in february at Reading open to the whole country .
Strong counties could put in 2 teams .

Funding from the ELA is another topic altogether, but we have plenty of women's county tournaments at youth level and other sports have plenty of youth competition. All this happens and the costs by and large, fall on the parents. If your child plays cricket for Surrey , then you have to buy all the...

On 30th July I wrote on this forum that the South was putting in place a structure for its representative youth teams and a performance plan is being developed. However , we need to build a fixture list and to demonstrate a pathway to youth players of how you get to the England u19 level. perhaps we...
head protection
There is no realistic chance of womens lacrosse being played with helmets, but for the majority of the world's players , who are required to use eye protection , that would not be an item on any agenda. There is no data on the incidence and scale of injuries to the head , but I suspect that it is gr...

The cup is not a tournament , it is a knockout competion for SEMLA. The respective winners will be entitled to call themselves South of England Champions. The whole face of youth lacrosse in the South is changing, we have more players and there will be more competitions, representative teams and str...

Harrow Cup
Let us not get diverted from the point . SEMLA organises competitions in the South. It is not our remit to create national competitions. That is something different, that is the MPC remit. Last season we had plenty of good and keen u16 and u12's . Many of those u16 will now be playing adult lacrosse...
